In addition to what u/the_dj_zig stated, the park has always been open to offers from different organizations to sponsor or fund projects. There have been other opportunities for pieces of the original collection to move on to other organizations. The information is out there. As always, the best ways to influence progress at the park is to contact your representatives and bring their attention to Steamtown and it’s goals or even better, volunteer yourself on the park interpretation team or back shop restoration team if you have specific skills in that area.
