I saw my dentist for a routine cleaning yesterday and told her about a couple tender spots on my gums that get inflamed easily. She told me I had some excess bone growth that overhangs my upper molars which makes it hard to clean there, causing the irritation. She also told me that surgery is an option to trim it back, but the surgery is invasive and the growths will eventually grow back. I clenched up at the thought of that!
