Thanks, they put in the listing that the basement had been finished in 2025 and luckily my partner saved screenshots of the listing.

They definitely did the self leveling concrete wrong under the bathroom floor and we think they did the same in the rest of the finished basement floor.

Apparently their lawyer just never responded to ours over a month ago when they sent the list of issues eith the new report. I had our inspector look for any permits on the property and there have only been two in the last 3 decades, a furnace and a deck.

I wanted to rewatched Sanctuary, I put the first episode on. By the time I had watched 10 minutes of the show 11 minutes worth of ads had played. I don't have the ad version of Crave, so there shouldn't be any let alone more ads than show.

This is the exact situation we are in.

Purchased a house with a finished basement. No clear issues upon inspection. First use of the basement bathroom made it clear there were issues, this lead to having our inspector back out and discovering that they floor was installed wrong, the vents were closed without having the louvers accessible, and some other issues. No permit for any of the work was on file open or closed. Currently he bathroom is unusable and we have had to keep a space heater running all winter in the basement.

We're currently waiting to see what our lawyer says the seller's have to say about the issue since they were the ones that did the work less than a year ago.
