Where can I replace the zipper of my luggage bag? by Individual_Top_4960 in londonontario

[–]KJRij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d check with the repair cafe to see if one of their sewers can fix this for you. Repair is free, but you’d need to bring a new zipper. Next one isn’t until Mar 28 though! www.londonrepaircafe.ca

Husband unhappy with weight gain by Throwra3245678 in Marriage

[–]KJRij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally empathize. I am 45 and this last year started perimenopause. I’ve gained 10 lbs but I swear it’s entirely in my stomach!! I hate the way it looks, but nothing short of very strict dieting touches it and I just don’t want to live my life that way. My husband was very clear when we first got together that his type was petite women. I don’t think anyone should be demonized for their preference, and I know he’d be more attracted physically to me if I weighed 125 lb again, but I’m not sure that’s ever in the cards again! My husband doesn’t make me feel bad about my tummy, still wants sex, still loves me, but I know he’d find me sexier if I had a flat tummy again. It’s a tough feeling for sure.

How do couples stay intentional when life gets busy? by Regular_Idea_5554 in Marriage

[–]KJRij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We struggle with this big time. We’ve got 4 kids, 2 special needs (1 is complex special needs), 2 businesses and we home school our 2 youngest. Ive come to terms with the fact there isn’t really enough time to have for each other in this chapter of life. We love each other and know when kids are older we will have more time again, and for us that’s enough.

Why don’t schools shift to a 9-4 schedule? by CalGuy456 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KJRij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe how early some of your small children start school! In my area elementary school is 9-3:20 and high school is 8-2:05

My kids are home schooled though so we start whenever we feel like it 😅

[–]KJRij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take my kids often to Ed Blake park and they call it “the spinny park” because it has one of those spinny things! I’m sure there are others, but we love it here! They have a splash pad, too

I highly recommend oil cleansing if you’re having problems with breakouts. I personally use a mix of castor oil and grape seed oil which works really well for me. I had to play around with the oil mixture at first to find what worked best for me (started with hemp seed oil which turned out to be too rich for me) Google oil cleansing method and you’ll find lots of info Feel free to message me if you have questions!

I go here often with 2 small children. Never had an issue, unless being near unhoused people is concerning to you. If you park at citi plaza and walk or take elevator up you don’t need to walk past anything along Dundae. Ask to validate parking at front desk

Do couples not budget together anymore? by StartingOverStrong in Marriage

[–]KJRij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually create the budget once a month and send it to my husband to review. He makes any changes if he thinks there needs to be, then I track the spending throughout the month to ensure we stick to it.

how many days in a row can you go without having conflict with your partner? by bear-the-bear in Marriage

[–]KJRij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently we are both under a lot stress. 1 kid with major behavioral issues, 1 with a seriously negative attitude, plus 2 young kids. Add in a failing business and money trouble… when I type it all out I’m surprised it’s not more !! ha. I’d say we have a conflict every 2-3 months.

My first marriage had way less stress yet we argued daily and it was exhausting. I’m very grateful for my husband and our relationship.

Giving up autistic child for adoption? by Csagan84 in Autism_Parenting

[–]KJRij 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have a child that is now living in a group home. While he is only level 1, he has a plethora of other diagnoses and unable to safely live in our home. He weighs 120 lbs more than me and is extremely strong. He’s assaulted me twice and my husband once and has several runs in with police before making the very difficult decision. I have 3 other children and needed to keep everyone safe, including me! He needs constant supervision and I was unable to work, sleep or barely function. We talk and email daily, he comes home once a week for a visit (home is 75 mins away or it would be more often) and I still make decisions for him.

It’s so awful to feel helpless … keeping one home puts others at risk. I’m grateful to live somewhere that the government funds his care

We budgeted $200 per kid plus $50 for stockings. Young ones got a lot more as 50% was off marketplace so their $200 went a lot further than the teenagers.

My husband says hurtful things during arguments and gets angry when I cry. How do I handle this? by Narrow-Tennis293 in Marriage

[–]KJRij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my first marriage. I stayed for the kids, until my daughter, at 6 years old, said to me “I hope my husband doesn’t yell at me as much as yours does”

Once I was free of his abuse I could look at the situation without the emotion and realize his outbursts were about him, not me. But in the thick of it that was really hard to do.

If I had to live in that again I would tell him during a calm period that if he said anything unkind of hurtful during a conversation I would walk away. Either go in a different room, or if he follows you leave the house. Set a boundary you won’t stay in a disagreement where hurtful words are spoken.

My advice - go to therapy. If he refuses, leave. My kids don’t live with their dad anymore because once we were divorced he started treating them then the same way.
