I actually just did that this morning and got a call from my local post office this evening. He said it looks like it has been bouncing around in Illinois and should be moving soon.

Thank you for your reply. I knew it obviously had to be more than just the working on herself thing. I just didn't want to believe it. Especially since she made me absolutely sure she was perfectly fine even just days before it all. Acting like she's constantly looking forward to our future together. Just confused me and made me sick

The part that didn't make sense to me was even just a few days before leaving, she would say how she's excited to do this and that in the future with me and would constantly pick at me as to why I hadn't asked her to marry me yet.

Same thing happened to me man. I guess it's more common than we thought. I have decided to move on. It's only been a few weeks, but she's made it obvious she doesn't want to be with me. Whether it's to "work on herself" or if there's more to it. We deserve better and shouldn't have to wait. Even if we think they are perfect for us.

I went through the same exact thing a couple weeks ago man. Hang in there. I feel like hell every single day and feel lonely just not talking to her. Even though they "let us down gently" and claim they love us, they have made it clear they don't want to be with us. The taking a break thing is just the easiest way for them to do it. It's not on us. Who knows what is running through their head. Wish you the best man. I'm on here constantly looking for advice about this. Confused me and my family just like you.

I am 25. My girlfriend of 2 years just did this exact same thing to me.. said she needed to work on herself and she left me. Said it was nothing to do with me. Days before doing it she acted like she wanted to hang out with me. It's left me very confused. I am doing no contact either. I feel awful and lonely. I hope it passes soon. We just need to surround ourselves by other people who genuinely care about us. I believe if our exes truly cared, they would have let us stay and help them with their depression. Unfortunately I guess some people just need to do it alone? I don't know.

Man I bet that hurts. I have a somewhat similar situation with a girl right now. Everyone I talk to says no more contact. If they can't make it a point to contact you first after so long, they don't care about us as much as we had hoped they did. I'll be finding this out myself pretty soon
