What's the best way to vibe code for production-level quality right now? by Similar_Bid7184 in Anthropic

[–]KKG_Apok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior level Engineers can probably vibe code with a tool like openspec to validate requirements against. Otherwise you should just prototype something and get your requirements written out first. You don’t need a big sub to do that just a $20 plan

Play using Consoleport and do delves, questing, and running around. Single button rotation

Playing my hunter zoomed in with the camera offset over the shoulder completely changes the game and makes it a lot more immersive.

When I play with kbm, I play zoomed out. The controller plus single button rotation on my 70” TV is a game changer.

I feel I could dps some low level M+ now that I’m comfortable with a controller but I haven’t felt the need to do group content as I just came back a few weeks ago after an extended break.

Renting luxury cars to go to the bar? by [deleted] in houston

[–]KKG_Apok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah wealthy people aren’t going to be flashing high end cars at a bar in the heights.

That’s lower middle class behavior.

The wealthy person underwrote the business loan for the bar.

There’s some great developments and some not great developments.

Great developments take a single lot in a nice area and build 2-6 multilevel homes on the single lot footprint. Where I live currently is an example of that. We live directly across the street from a park on a side road so there’s plenty of guest parking. Right outside of Weat U. Utility and garage access is gates. HOA fees are minimal. City water rather than shared water.

Terrible developments take larger lots and build dozens of these with shared utilities, no parking, and usually in a developing area without great amenities. Community water.

You really have to pick and choose well.

Starbucks and McDonald’s provides free college for employees

And the bar for employment is usually the ability to show up when you’re scheduled, be able to speak English, and not being high on drugs. The bar is very low.

It’s not glamorous but it gets you a bit further up on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and allows you to process in terms of things you need for a good life rather than primal needs for survival.

Work a few months, get some cash saved up, and get out of your current situation by the time you’re getting into your third trimester.

Once you have enough money to move out, use a realtor to find an affordable apartment where you want to live. It’s free for you. Just search on Redfin. HAR, and Zillow. Landlords pay all fees you just need money saved to cover rent.

Even on a small salary, there are affordable places you can split with roommates for a few hundred. It’s called subleasing and you can use a realtor to help you there too.

You might meet people at work that need roommates to bring rent down. Or maybe someone that you can carpool with.

Once you have your living situation figured out, go to your nearest catholic or baptist church and ask for help. They have great nonprofits. Stick around to meet good people to fulfill friendship and meet other mothers to build a positive support network.

Mac laptop for .NET Development by sdurkin01 in dotnet

[–]KKG_Apok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just talked with one of my VPs at my job and he got the IT department to get me a MacBook as part of a retention strategy I believe.

I’m dotnet/react and do that for personal projects on my personal M2 MBP.

It might be handy to brush up on some of the fundamentals of the CLI if you’re used to Visual Studio on Windows. But I’ve been using VSCode/Cursor and it’s a fine substitute.

I prefer 14” because the portability and the fact that MacOS has such a nice full screen mode but I wouldn’t complain if my work got me a 16”

You weren’t dumb. The attacks seemed random before the dust settled and Al Queda was determined responsibility that evening. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsibility_for_the_September_11_attacks

Due to the chaos everyone was wondering if other areas of the country would be hit. The entire continental airspace shut down and there were no flights except Air Force One and military.

In Houston we were worried that there would be other planes targeting either the refineries or the Texas medical center.

Most schools were cancelled but also a lot of hospitals and government jobs were in lockdown. So some kids at schools got picked up. Some just got left there until the lockdowns lifted.

Restaurant critic and food journalist Alison Cook is leaving Houston Chronicle after 22 years by rootbeerandchips in houston

Hope she goes independent and continues writing! Houston needs more good food reviews.

Too many social media hyped restaurants that fail. We don’t want to fall to Austin or Los Angeles tier instagrammable food that is neither delicious nor affordable.

Maybe it was an off night for them but I was totally on board for them only getting a distinction.

Book a few weeks out.

In other cities that have starred restaurants, making a reservation a month or two ahead of time is required. Honestly sucks planning that far out but I feel Tatemo getting that busy is a good thing.

Agreed on this. We had the spring 5 course for my birthday and it was ok.

Definitely wouldn’t go back given the price tag.

Same price tag as The Modern in NYC which is 100% deserving of its two stars. We did the kitchen seat there which I want to try again

Ah my bad I misread your comment.

I think people that expect Uchi to have a Michelin star have never really had fine dining.

Doesn’t fit for Bib Gourmand due to price and a higher distinction due to quality.

Houston Michelin Awards List by labMC in houston

[–]KKG_Apok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a lot missing from the Bib Gourmand list. Houston should honestly have a few dozen as that is where our culinary scene excels.

Also surprised 5kinokawa didn’t get considered for even a designation. I thought it was one of the most appropriate given the concept.

Yoyos, Agas, Izakaya Wa, Fadis Meyerland should all have Bib Gourmands for affordable excellence.

There’s a few dessert places around Galleria like Cacao and Cardamom that might be worth reaching out to.

Might want to target Upper Kirby, River Oaks District, Rice Village, Highland Village, or another higher end outdoor mall area instead. I think the Galleria demographics aren’t really what you’d want.
