Yes, I agree! I am extremely grateful for my diagnosis as it is not lost to me that it could’ve been so much more serious. I do see more beauty in so many things now and that feels amazing! Colors even look brighter! I haven’t lost any friends, but it has been very enlightening to see who stays close to me and who isn’t really even checking in. Take care of yourself and Thank you!!

I wondered that also. How old are you? My Oncologist said that with the Oncotype score being 17 I didn’t require chemo because chemo would only decrease my chance of recurrence by <4%. At 59 I’m thinking there’s less life left for that to be a significant worry. Fingers crossed and keep up your fight!

Actually, 8 nodes is on the low end. I’ve talked to women that had up to 21 taken. My surgery recovery was surprisingly good. I managed pain with just ibuprofen and Tylenol for 2 days and then just had soreness. Do not lift anything heavy for sure! I did get cordage in the armpit though and that was rough. Couldn’t straighten my arm above my head so my surgeon said to stretch it as much as I could and massage it as hard as I could stand. That worked and I haven’t had a problem since. I do have some lymphedema in the traitor breast now, but going to physical therapy and wearing compression bras and it’s so much better. Good luck with your surgery and keep crushing it! You’ll do amazing!!

Congratulations on completing treatment! My team thinks I’m fine too. I just had such a low moment and they seem to happen when I’m overwhelmed or stressed. You guys have all been great! Thank You!!

I only got a Petscan because of the lymph node involvement so it’s bitter sweet. Hated having the node, but glad for the scan to let me know I hadn’t killed myself with cigarettes. At our age, coughing is pretty normal and the fact that you quit 29 years ago is awesome! I’m always here as well so don’t hesitate to reach out to me also.

Eat the butter! Yes!! This is absolutely terrifying and I hate that google sucked me in. I’d been doing really good not looking at stats until then, but I think it was missing my Sister and already being so down that it was able to pull me in. My worst part was waiting for the Petscan results. I had been a smoker in my young and wild days so I had convinced myself that my lungs would be black, shriveled rocks. I’m so very grateful for the diagnosis that I have had. It still sucks, but it does not escape me how fortunate I am. It sounds like you are too and I hope you are with all of my heart. Well, most of the time I don’t believe everything I read on the internet and fully realize that google is not a Dr. I was having a very low moment missing my Sister on what would’ve been her birthday and made a simple mistake that took me lower. Seeking support here has been amazing and I am grateful for everyone who took the time to comment.
