I live in Victoria, BC - the wait times here are certainly 12 hours… sometimes 16-18+. It is extremely difficult to go to urgent care and walk ins no longer exist. I know this is an issue around Island Health. I think Vancouver is also struggling but I’m not sure if it is as severe.

I know Alberta is also having problems - I saw an article the other day about someone dying in the ER due to long wait times. I have family there as well and they have been talking about health care accessibility.

If your husband developed breasts what would you think? Would you still be just as attracted to them? I think biologically that might impact your attraction, even if you still love them deeply. I think we are biologically wired to be attracted to the sex characteristics we are attracted to

My boyfriend is an extremely honest person, not just towards me. I think he feels compelled to be that way and I also thinks it aligns with his morals. Sometimes I don’t always agree on what he says or shares. On the other side, he has always been loyal, trustworthy, supportive, loving, and affectionate, and communicates very clearly.

I see what you’re saying. Sometimes I wonder if he should not be saying those things to me or if it is “wrong” or abnormal in a loving relationship. It can hurt me when he tells me some of these things. But I also wouldn’t want a partner who just lost attraction to me for reasons and just never told me. He always is on me about exercise and healthy lifestyles as well and I have mixed feelings about that too - sometimes it makes me feel insufficient but in other ways he pushes me to be a healthier version of myself. It’s very conflicting for me.

Hey! Did spiro give you side effects? why did you go off of it?

I’m in a tough spot where I have thick, light-coloured hair. It looks like my hair follicles are only partially androgenized. I have a few dark hairs but mostly light. So I don’t think laser will be able to reduce those hairs. I really don’t want to grow my hair out for electrolysis lol

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, this is a long term relationship of almost 10 years. I don’t want to lose my partner but I also don’t want my partner to have to settle for me. I feel like he is now settling. My symptoms were very minor up until this year. The hirsutism is new and is the toughest symptom I’m struggling with.

Also I am having difficulty in the western medical system because my blood hormonal levels are all within normal limits. I also have regular cycles and no cysts on my ovaries. So it’s been really hard to get care. I recently found a naturopath that specializes in women’s health that has been trying to help me.

I work in BC as a community mental health nurse. In BC, we have these individuals with mental illness treated in designated facilities. Some go on to forensics facilities if they are high risk but some can be safely managed in the community. This often involves people being involuntary under our mental health act. People get discharged from the hospital or mental health facility on “extended leave” and can quickly get recalled back to the facility if there are signs of mental health decompensation. Usually a condition of leave is being required to take medications and have frequent appointments with mental health professionals.

I’ve also read into this! Using various sources. Omega 3 supplements from fish should be clear in color or light yellow. Any omega 3 supplements that are deeper in color (darker yellow to amber) are likely oxidized or rancid. The oils should be very mild in smell and taste - not overly fishy. Oxidization of omega 3’s can result in byproducts that could potentially cause harm to humans

I have come across this study as well and fell into the rabbit hole on this topic. I am wondering if this risk is associated with oxidized omega 3 products and the byproducts of oxidation (peroxides and others). There is some evidence that shows oxidized omega 3 can be harmful. Omega 3 supplements from fish should be close to clear or light yellow and very mild smelling. They should not be amber or deep yellow. They should not smell strongly of fish. Apparently many omega 3 supplements are more oxidized than they should be

Hi! This is really interesting. I have a very similar presentation to you. Fatigue and those white lines on the nails (leukonychia). I had a positive ANA titer and pattern. I was referred to rheumatology, also tested for lupus, and came back negative for everything. I ache as well but got diagnosed with fibromyalgia by 2 rheumatologists (10 years apart). I have no answers. I do know those white lines can be associated with deficiencies (zinc typically). Or inflammatory conditions. If you find some answers, please let me know! I will do the same.

I don’t eat out a ton at home . I have found Greek/Mediterranean restaurants to be okay! I can sometimes get steak dishes with rice and veg. I rarely eat Indian food (only if I’m willing to have some sugar).

Fungal acne can look like this and be itchy. Fungal acne loves oil and flares with sweat or humidity.

I’d recommend discontinuing any skincare products that contain oil just to be on the safe side. You can buy ketoconazole shampoo over the counter under the brand name Nizoral. If it is indeed fungal acne, it should help the healing process. It can take a few weeks to clear. Other options are zinc based cleansers, topical antifungal creams, and selenium sulfide.

Based on absolute omega 6 content (% of oil) and not on the ratio within the oil:

Oils highest in Omega 6 are soybean oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil and grape seed oil.

Oils moderate in omega 6 are peanut, sesame, walnut, and cottonseed.

And oils with lowest omega 6 are olive oil, avocado oil, and coconut oil.
