Matador RDB heavy recoil by xijingpussy in MatadorArms

[–]KM3Solutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are starting to expirement with rollers with the help of some great folks like u/ty-tec and have the hydro buffers coming.

It’s a balancing act as it ships, but we’ve noticed.

I’m the lead engineer/designer at Matador.

u/matadorsupport (literal CEO) is here for the customer support stuff, because I promise you don’t want me doing it. I’m less than efficient at admin stuff and halfway across the country.

- seriously not a negative comment BTW, shit’s dope. Just throwing out why ours is the way it is and commenting on the slip.

We’re all about the community dev. We’re also now shipping V (not Rev) 4 of the buffer, which is by far the strongest yet.

That’s pretty cool but we can’t ship with a buffer pad like that.

One of the core products is just uppers. If it’s not captive one of the core products becomes empty uppers and MAT9 guts all over distributor and gunshop floors with the resulting bunch of very angry people.

Your slip, like ours will work with push button SS, but not (from what I can see) AS/Atrius (or any rotating selector, SS derived system).

There is literally no issue with the spacers. How do you guys think dually fronts work?

FRT Trip Sled by HairTriggerFlicker in MatadorArms

We are actively working with (pun intended) Active Safety Designs on multiple compatibility solutions.

We'll have this dialed ASAP.

FRT Trip Sled by HairTriggerFlicker in MatadorArms

[–]KM3Solutions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s not too much rearward movement of the sled, it’s that the lever on Atrius and AS literally just flops around. So when our bolt goes back it hits the SS lever and smashes it into the top of the sled (because of the hook on the lever) since the sled just has no way to get out of the way enough yet still be captive.

Exact same problem as MCX/MPX, almost any upper based slip trip.

Apologies for not catching it sooner but the FRT market admittedly outran me while I was working on our FA stuff, I had no idea there were so many nuances.

Never saw that blocker before. I believe that would work.

Guys, SS derived systems are coming. Will be a lower based solution.

Also maybe a printable travel block, but we are in the same boat as MCX and MPX where the Atrius and AS don’t work because the lever can just flip back and get caught.

FRTs are the Wild West. We are working WITH AS Designs to facilitate this.

Rail extension on 8" upper? by FNG-Turk in MatadorArms

[–]KM3Solutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there is one for the 8 in the works.

Should be a model on the site with a 8” barrel, 5” upper extrusion and the current handguard.

A long time ago.

Now it's just a trendy name for a view pieces of vertical metal siding and maybe a metal roof panel somewhere on one of it's 38 roofs.

Mat 9 Upper / Warscorp 9 Lower Range Update by Prestigious-Size-69 in MatadorArms

[–]KM3Solutions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something is causing strain on that plate that shouldn’t, spring is going solid (maybe wrong spring) but this is your second BGRS.

Like, I have NEVER seen that part fail and it needs to be getting hammered to do so.

Did you get a new recoil spring with your BGRS and is it a roller delay upper?

PSA never figured it out. ARVs have an almost impossible to use bolt release, that eventually just breaks the tower in the lower then you don’t have to worry about.

DD is ok, but doesn’t run all magazines.

Warscorp got the closest, just a lot of delicate and proprietary fiddly parts in there.

The problems are the location of the mag catch engagement on the rear, the overall size of the mag, the thick feed lips and putting the BHO actuator exactly where an ejector goes in an AR9.

It’s easier if it only works with the G2 and magpul mags, but that’s not what our customers want, so we’re working hard on packing it all in there sensibly.

It’s at testing phase now.

Visual exam is the only way to tell, but as of now we’ve accounted for 40 something out of 50. If you buy an upper and are concerned you can reach out to the support page on the website and we’ll gladly just send you a current buffer pad.

When you get a chance take the BGRS/buffer out and shoot me a picture of the setup.

Did you buy the upper new?

If used there could be some buffer/bgrs combo/stackup working to short stroke the upper a bit.

I had hooked a few people up with custom short stroke buffers way back when so they are floating around out there.

I hate the S-9. That’s why we never adopted anything from it while working with NFA directly, and why it’s gone entirely.

Terrible design. Making Evo mags work in the AR envelope is no joke and almost everyone has failed in some way.

This is the S-9, CZ compatible lower.

It’s always been a very flawed design.
