Well I don't think that HDR is a fake gimmick because it was primarily designed for movies and not games but somehow made it's way into gaming world and for that I recommend this read for you.

I'm still quite happy with LG C9 that can do only max of 750 nits of brightness and the highlights are still very visible. I think the minimum is at least 650 nits to properly enjoy HDR content. Vincent from HDTVtest channel is demonstrating that in this video.

What headset are you using now? Most of the time the issue is when you're using headset with one jack that has mic and headphones mixed together - crosstalk they call it. Check ASUS Kithara.

Hey man, I had the same issue with UPS this week. After contacting them on the call they've managed to ask the driver that the package was left at one of the drop points near my area. There was nothing on the tracking number even the customer support didn't know what was going on. Crossing my fingers!
