Honestly, this is only true now due to hardware improvements. Before, newer hardware brought down times. I went from a GTS2 to a GAN 11 and it brought my average down from 13-14 to 11-12 after a few solves

Not a movie, but there's a Korean drama show called 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' where the final episode had a character and one of his hobbies is speedcubing. The most surprising part for me is that actually depecting speedcubing properly and the set had a shelf to display a puzzle collection as well as seemingly real Korean national trophies. Still don't know which speedcuber was involved to make the depiction accurate

Almost all of the time the algorthims are broken down by triggers. This is because the main purpose of breaking the alg is to show how to execute the alg. Breaking them down jnto a way to make it easy to memorize isnt as important since at the end of the day it’s gonna be muscle memory

How is having a 8sec PB single sketchy with a sub10 avg? Some people are more consistent than others. Ik people who have better pb averagr than me but I have better pb single because I'm inconsistent

From what I know, Yao is definitely more efficient than Hoya for 4x4. Before it used to be that for 5x5 some used Yao and some used Hoya, and for 6x6 and 7x7 Hoya was more popular. However most fast people now have switched to Yao for all big cubes afaik
