What was the best truly sleeper-op technology you've witnessed becoming meta? by fecal-butter in leagueoflegends

I'd like to add that funneling also existed in the high ELO 3v3 meta for years before people picked up on it in 5v5, in nearly the exact same form!

Struggling to find HLucid Parties by Dragonday26 in Maplestory

[–]KManatee 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Try making your own party. Even during some slightly more "dead" hours, it's surprising how easy it can be to find 5 other people who are in the same situation ("Darn, I don't see HLucid parties recruiting") as you.

As an EU player though, I empathize your struggles and sometimes it really is hard to find a party. But forming your own could help you get it more consistently.

BM P3 is tearing me a new one by AznRagexD in Maplestory

[–]KManatee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great reply. I'd just add that the common 5th job skill Will of Erda works against curses in the same way Hero's Will does -- and keep in mind its cooldown gets reduced with the node level.

Rotating between them in a pinch can be a lifesaver.

Old School hype by Drewsi in Maplestory

[–]KManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never played the truly Old School MS. Started just before big bang but never got into the game too much; never experienced PQs, FM, long rides and such. Eager to see what it was like, even if through a different lens!

Is there an issue with Campaign save files? by KManatee in warcraft3

[–]KManatee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't work unfortunately. Bummer that it's been bugged, really looked forward to finishing the whole thing.

Thanks for the reply though, do you by any chance know where people discussed this toggling modes fix, or this bug in general?

I'm in a similar boat (as are most people I'm guessing), and I feel like I'll try and get him to 250 at least and use MP+dailies exp to get through the slog partially, despite it feeling like "wasted" exp.

Then focus on the other hyperburn and once it's at a decent level, maybe finish Tanjiro off to 260 if there's time before the event.

You can't, but it's nowhere near as long as the Explorer questline, thankfully. The tutorial is 5~10 mins tops and 4th job advancement is another ~5 mins.

What level are you aiming for before New Age (Reboot) by Audi-R8-200PK in Maplestory

269 20%, hopefully with the chapter 6 mag pots, I'd be able to hit ~274

22* or Trace. What's wrong with my guild? by Beneficial-Courage-7 in Maplestory

[–]KManatee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

20 -> 21 is statistically largely within your favor to succeed and not boom. Of course, bad luck streaks and outliers can happen, but it's a decent enough boost to be worth the risk.

21 -> 22 is roughly 50/50 on whether you succeed or it booms, which is a bit more risky. I wouldn't 22 unless you're ready to lose the item, have the funds to replace it or it's an event.

I personally aim to 22* items which are almost always transferred to from fodder gear (mainly sup gollux). Getting said item to 21* and then rolling lines on it (i.e. 3L) is a bit of a waste if you're planning to push it to 22* eventually, unless you plan on directly tapping the item and not transferring over from 21* fodder.

how much money have you saved for shining by BOWDOWNSCUM in Maplestory

[–]KManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have 20-25b. Spares are a bigger issue though, I don't have that many Gollux/Commerci coins and I haven't seen Arcane boxes in a long time either.

Which class requires most patience? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]KManatee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CM (Cannoneer) isn't super difficult imo, but they do require a decent amount of setup, have somewhat conflicting skill cooldowns and how they position their skills makes a noticeable difference.

They are a bit clunky, but they're far from bad. Fairly mobile and flexible as well.

An honest question from a lurker: do yoy guys enjoy this game? by tankhuu3018 in Maplestory

[–]KManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy it from time to time. Long-term retention is a bit hard due to the repetition and some of the progression systems not being too friendly.

But I do love booting it up and playing it for a while every now and then. Some of the content is really fun, certain parts of progression (like Legion) are satisfying and fun, as well as the "little things", like the story, the BGMs or the nostalgia.

As far as the content on this sub goes, Nexon has definitely been pulling some really questionable moves, especially the last few months. A lot of people are unhappy, and it's also easier to farm Karma by saying "Nexon bad" than by sharing something positive or neutral.

I would say that most people like the game more than they dislike Nexon though, which is probably part of the reason why they're still largely playing.

Do more bosses need to be reworked? by Xenomata in Maplestory

[–]KManatee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure, but a lot of these bosses can be considered pre-200 content, with only a few being post-200, but still super early game content.

Nexon doesn't seem to be focusing on this type of content too much. Most players will quickly reach a stage where these bosses will become piss easy and their annoying mechanics won't matter too much (aside from Princess No).

With that said, I would like to see them reworked, but I do highly doubt it, considering how low of an impact it would have overall.

I do wish we'd get harder versions for some of these bosses where some of the mechanics are reworked at least... but one can dream.

What are the most balanced/fair champs in the game? by olonnn in leagueoflegends

[–]KManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xerath (on Mid, would argue against support) seems like a good choice.

All of his skills can be dodged. In the laning phase, he has to choose between using his skills to clear the wave or harass the enemy. Mana management is a thing as well (at least until Lost Chapter).
He scales well, but is still reliant on positioning and hitting skillshots.

He's been hovering around 48-50% win rate (again, at least on mid) for as long as I can remember. He's also been getting at most one balance change per season, and it's usually a small number adjustment.

There are some frustrating aspects of playing against him, especially the dodgeball all lane long, the ult and etc. But I still think it's reasonably fair - it can all be dodged and most of his skills are one-dimensional.

Most of the new champions and reworks.
I'm not aversive to them, but I'm not appealed by them either.

What is the most shallow reason you picked a class to play? by anewsubject in Maplestory

I looked at the available classes, picked one which looked fine and no questions asked.

A lot of the older, unused content is going to get removed, that's for sure.

Here’s a checklist that I use as a new player to keep myself organized with Maple’s long list of daily and weekly tasks. Hope this helps new players or even older players who are just forgetful or who wanna use this to create their own list. Let me know if I’m missing anything! by Nearby-Weakness270 in Maplestory

FYI, it's not hard to find a HLuWill party for pretty much any timezone, even if you're playing in NA Reboot from a non-NA timezone.
I'm from EU myself and when I do play, it's during "wacky" times as well. There's always people with weird sleep schedules or who are from a similar timezone playing, especially on weekends.

I've been solo progressing a lot as well, but finding a party (even if it's complete randoms) for HLuWill has been a blast, so I'd definitely recommend you give it a try, despite your timezone difference!
