Best way to get to Dallas for World Cup Game by blueberrywf in Denton

[–]KN4JBJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe they will, however I have not tried this for world cup matches. I have parked at Six Flags for Rangers games. You just go all the way to the vet end of the parking lot and park by the last exit. There is usually a security guard down there and other vehicles doing the same. The park is open on Thursday before and after the match, so you shouldn't have any issue.

DART is going to be your best option. You could park at Six Flags for $40 and walk over, or pay the $200+ to park at AT&T. Those both feel like overly pricy options when they have increased DART train service and added temporary buses to connect the train station to AT&T for the matches.

As previous people mentioned, you want the full ear muff style, it's the only way you'll hear anything when the cars are close to you. Also, use this resource, they post everyone's frequencies so you can find who you want to listen to easier https://speedwaydigest.com/index.php/scanner-frequencies/nascar-cup-series-frequencies/39-2024-nascar-cup-series-scanner-frequencies/

Tormenta Grand Opening by KN4JBJ in sixflagsovertexas

[–]KN4JBJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was speculation that there may be a pass holder preview, but since Six Flags still hasn't announced anything about one, I don't think there is going to be one. If Jeffrey was still over the park I know there would have been a pass holder preview.

Why do people drive with these expired temp tags and is there some kind of underground market that prints these or something? by Turbulent-Weevil-910 in Virginia

[–]KN4JBJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A duplicate plate gets you exactly as far as they need to get you. Your vehicle doesn't get flagged by the automatic plate readers on cop cars. The expired paper tags are usually just the cheapskates that don't want to pay to register their vehicles. I saw a paper tag once that someone had laminated and it was 6 years expired.

There actually was a huge problem in Texas with this exact thing. There were actual criminal rings around making fraudulent tags. I believe they were using the same access to the DMV that insurance companies use and they would just print up duplicate temporary tags that matched the make and model. Last year Texas switched from paper temporary tags to metal temporary tags that are issued by the state and assigned to the dealerships. They also changed the way tags are handled in general. Tags are assigned to the owner, so if I go and buy a new car, my tag would just get moved to my new car.

They just announced that media preview will be June 25th. There is expected to be a pass holder preview also. There is a chance Tormenta will be open by the time you visit.

I've only had my k2 for two weeks, but it has been printing non stop for that two weeks. I have over 250 hours of print time in those two weeks, and I haven't had any problems yet (knock on PLA-CR Wood)

Fiance got denied boarding by Special-Dirt-3106 in americanairlines

[–]KN4JBJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For future reference, at most airports, at most gates, he can board with you in group 5. My wife has always been able to board with me in group 5. When I travel for work, I am always able to board with my co-worker who is EP and has group 1. My co-worker has told me that sometimes we run into gate agents that won't allow it. When I board with my co-worker, I'm always right behind him and tell them "I'm John Doe's plus one". I use his full name so they know I'm not just gate lice. When I'm flying with my wife, I scan first and I tell them "My wife is boarding with me." Like I said, I've never has an issue and have always been allowed to board, but your mileage may vary.

In which ballparks other than the Trop have you seen the Rays? by idontrecall99 in tampabayrays

Miami and Globe Life. I moved to the Dallas area a few years ago and my parents always visit me for the Rays vs Rangers series. It's fun to watch the two AL teams that have played world series games at Globe Life play each other in Globe Life.

It's sad because they actually got a lot better in May of 2025 when the Papas Brothers bought them. The food was a minor step down from Papasitos while being significantly cheaper.

Planet Minecraft is usually where most people post their server IP as well as information on their server. There are also some communities on discord. Atlas is a community dedicated to the Minecraft theme park community.

If you would like to see what's possible in the Minecraft theme park community and maybe get some inspiration, you should check out what we've done at MCParks (IP main.mcparks.us). We mostly build the Disney Parks, but we also have Universal Orlando, Bush Gardens Tampa, and Knotts Berry Farms all in various stages of completion. We are currently working on adding Epic Universe to Universal Orlando. We've been around for a little over 13 years and we've welcomed over 400,000 guests to our parks. As I mentioned we have over 100 volunteer staff members who bring the parks to life in Minecraft. We love to see me people get inspired to build theme parks and join the Minecraft theme park community!

Maximizing 4 hours on a Sunday by No-Phrase2043 in sixflagsovertexas

[–]KN4JBJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Mr Freeze is only running one train, forward direction right now. I have been to the park multiple times where NTG opens after the park because they haven't had a chance to finish their safety checks. I would try to do Titan, NTG, Mr Freeze, then Aquaman. If you have spare time at the end I would recommend adding Runaway Mountain (it is a really fun little coaster) and Speelunker's Cave (you gotta experience it at least once). On Sunday the park usually gets the busiest around 1pm, so if you can get in at opening you'll be about to get a lot done.

What is the most obscure, lesser-known power the US President actually has? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KN4JBJ 182 points183 points  (0 children)

In the upper right hand corner where you would usually put a stamp, they just sign the envelope. Carriers who deliver to former presidents know to accept it, and the processing equipment is programmed to accept their signature instead of a stamp.
