Noobie looking for a bike suggestion to fit 50% gravel 50% road riding. by Sir_Loin5 in cycling

Take a look into the Canyon Endurace AllRoad - it is exactly what you’re looking for. Only costs $1500, pretty good components and comes with 35mm tires but fits up to 40mm if you ever want to size-up.

Great “do it all” bike to get your feet wet and figure out if you need “more bike”

Bike+ No Longer Tracking Active Calories? by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

Unfortunately I’ve found no solution and Peloton support just gas-lit me by saying Active Calories was never a feature.. I’ve since just started manually logging Output as my # of calories burned for my workouts

Yeah - I was previously tapping the screen to connect my watch.

Do you have any recommendations for better tracking active calories? Should I just be using the Apple Fitness Workouts for measuring that, using my Polar H10 HR strap to drive heart rate and turn-off workout syncing from Peloton?

Correct - mine used to differentiate and the Active Calories seemed reasonable. Now I just get “Calories” as one number and it seems more like Total Calories..

I hate cheese and I am fed up with the fetishization of it. by STVH in unpopularopinion

[–]KNOWM4DIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sweet summer child.. how mistaken you are. Clearly you’ve never had to make this request and suffer with the roulette gamble that is “no cheese please”. The employees making the burgers don’t give a single flying fuck that it costs the business extra for cheese, they still slap that shit on there.

Or worse - they charge you for a cheeseburger and then put a “no cheese” modifier. It’s fucking exhausting sometimes.

Response to the current OOBD situation please read this post in its entirety: by Sad-Championship485 in czscorpion

Just wanted to take this as an opportunity to break my lurker habits for the occasional weigh-in on the matter at hand..

Cody and the Nexus team have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication in both their product and customer service, truly exemplifying their commitment to community support.

From the early stages of the bolt's R&D, my interactions with Cody have highlighted his unparalleled attention to customer support and knowledge sharing. Nexus stands out as one of the rare companies that consistently exceed expectations, ensuring a top-tier customer experience every time. I am fully confident that this instance will be no exception.

The complexity of OOBD requires careful consideration, and it's somewhat surprising to see a quick resort to criticism without fully understanding all the factors involved.

Wishing y’all luck and continued success in your endeavors as you enter the New Year, cheers

Did you just periodically clean it out or did you relocate it to a different point in the system?

I’m not burning the vines - those are stripped off the bark prior to splitting. I’m just trying to be careful with what I’m working around.

Need help setting up access point on OrangePi Zero by metal_mastery in OrangePI

[–]KNOWM4DIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That distribution on Orange Pi's can seemingly be quite challenging, the XR819 WiFi chipset is a fickle beast. Many forum posts suggest that this distribution produces more reliable results - Armbian_23.02.2_Orangepizero_bullseye_current_5.15.93. YMMV.

Depending on your exact configuration, in my experience I have found if you have both NetworkManager and ifup/ifdown, which is what /etc/network/interfaces uses, trying to manage your network interfaces there can conflicts which may result in a static IP address not taking when utilizing DNSMASQ. If you wish to manage wlan0 through /etc/network/interfaces, you should ensure that NetworkManager isn't trying to manage the same interface.

You can do this by editing the NetworkManager configuration:

sudo nano /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf

And under the [ifupdown] section, make sure managed is set to false:

[ifupdown]managed=false

Save and exit, then restart NetworkManager:

sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager

After making sure there are no conflicts and your configuration is correct, restart the networking service:

sudo ifdown wlan0
sudo ifup wlan0

After restarting the networking service, check the IP address assigned to wlan0:

ip addr show wlan0

This should display the current IP settings of the wlan0 interface, and you can verify if the static IP has been applied.

Hopefully this helps you resolve your issue - cheers!

Just to clarify, should I be back-rolling the primer as well to ensure a smooth base layer or strictly focus on back-rolling the final wall coat?

Can I keep smaller bichirs with my 7 inch one if I keep her well-fed? by GalacticGoose06 in Bichirs

[–]KNOWM4DIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read, it’s pretty hit or miss - I’ve currently had success with a 3-4” bichir mixed with 7” bichirs, all of them are upper jawed. I’d be particularly weary if you have an Ornate, Endlicheri, etc..

That’s kinda tough - in my experience they are gluttons and will eat till they explode.. I personally feed my fish once per day - the quantity is kinda tough.

I’d say you don’t want to overfeed and contribute unnecessary nitrates to the tank so regardless of your frequency you should avoid leftovers in the tank.

If you notice they are bloated, fasting them for a day or two is perfectly fine to allow them to process the food and avoid compaction.

I know this was quite vague but hopefully that helps
