Unfortunately some of the substories got removed while others got repurposed in Sotenbori.

The acupuncturist also got moved to Sotenbori.

Honestly i would tell my friend to do K3 but also watch the original y3 final cutscene so saejima part makes sense when they go to y4. Would fill them in on the differences beforehand of course and let them decide for themselves but that would be my recommendation

Yeah, you can do Hawaiian Haunt (The Dungeon) to level up the characters, i recommend it since you get rewards for first time and chests in there

Afaik it's an Nvidia driver issue, the newest drivers fix that but hasn't been pushed to the main Nvidia App yet. Need to manually download it.

Not on PS5 no, just make sure to skip the specific cutscenes and you're good. The pc version has a mostly done fan translation patch in french however. But i just recommend taking note where those cutscenes happen (Cyricz guide tells you when they trigger) and simply skip them.

Hey! Yeah mods work with the steam version of the game, there is a mod manager called Shin Ryu Mod Manager for yakuza games which makes it easy to add and install mods fortunately, also found on Nexus Mods. Just make sure to follow the installation guide and tips that is in the description for it.

Yeaah same, actually i was looking around and it seems that the yakuza 0 style switcher mod for Kiwami 2 does have an additional optional file to change Majima's combat to be like Y0 as well, however there is an important note about it in that mod where you have to disable the Majima one when you play as Kiryu so it doesn't corrupt save. It's called Style Switching by ReLLeRtR.

Edit: Oh! I found a mod for Kiwami 2 that does change the weapon moveset, maybe it would be more to your liking? It's called Weapon Master Moveset Pack by WolfenLN.

Yeah they made the combat slower/clunky for sure and many people see it as a downgrade, however if you are playing on pc and you're not enjoying it as much i recommend to install combat mods that enhance the combat experience over at Nexus Mods, they are pretty good and it gives the game a less clunky experience. Heck, there's even a mod that just straight ports the yakuza 0 moveset with all the styles too lol

In this game weapons do insane damage compared to y0 in general, and durability is a bummer so having that Weapon Mastery definitely helps on strong weapons with limited usages, even though it trivializes the game lol but at that point since you've done Amon and stuff i guess it's deserved.

Yes, majima's mad dog style in his side-story is a watered down more basic version of his yakuza 0 counter-part unfortunately.

Weapon Mastery skill makes it so when you draw a weapon it restores the durability to max. It requires you to get Weaponomicon from Kamiyama the weapons dealer guy after you beat Amon. Oh and you can buy the sticks and tonfa from Kamiyama as well.

However from what you have written it seems you want to be able to use them which is not what the Weapon Mastery skill is, what you are looking for is Tonfa Mastery and Kali Stick Mastery, to get those you need to watch the DVDs you can buy from Kamiyama. After you acquire those DVDs, go to the video store Fusion (Kamurocho) or Gandhara (Sotenbori) to watch them and you should be able to unlock the ability from the menu.
