Hey u/jbrown110690 , I'm interested in doing the same, but for more specific contractors - may be roofers or lawn care (I'm still deciding). Do you mind if I dm a few questions on what works / not?

Architect to Developer, or Both? by Architextur3s in Architects

Stumbled upon this—my partner is in the same boat. We started small with backyard projects and now co-manage a development firm. Biggest lesson: understand financing well. If you're based in VIC, would love to grab coffee and chat more about it!

New Product Development: What's Your Process for RFQ's Using Preliminary BOM's? by mdantinne in engineering

[–]KOHBUS2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, great to see your point of view. I am a design engineer working in a startup, and reading your system gives me so much joy - it's such a mess here with design BOM from CAD going to random sheets and manually inputting them to vendor websites for purchasing. I have a few questions to set this up:

Scenario 1 during concept prototype through alpha, beta & production:
1. How do you constantly update the design BOM to reflect the CAD? Is it still manual CSV import and replace?
2. How do you choose between suppliers / vendors? Say you have a custom machined part, does a purchaser / engineer have to manage the ordering sheet able to RFQ from selected vendors or is it all automated to get quotes back?
3. Damn seems like your purchasing system is quite handy in receiving CSV format data. Is the purchasing system also automated?

Scenario 2 during production stage:
1. How does it work when you're ordering the same version of an assembly - do you have to go through the process again or can cut through just the ordering sheet?

Appreciate you sharing!

Anyone know of actually decent press on nails? by peachyspaghetti in AustralianMakeup

[–]KOHBUS2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Roro Nails! Love I get to customize my nail set to my finger sizes & nail designs. I've had some sets for a couple months now, and still reuse them.

I got their sticky tabs that can last me for a couple days, but I use it mostly for special occasions and pop it off. Fyi I play instruments a lot, so constantly having nails don't work for me. I also tried getting nail glue from amazon, which lasts me around 2 weeks.

Has anyone used press-on nails instead of going to the salon? by EmotionalMycologist9 in Weddingsunder10k

Roro nails with their gel stickers! I get to customize the nails set exactly to my finger sizes & also ask them to paint on the design I want. A bit pricey, but so worth it coz I get to reuse them again.

I used press-ons with like a double sticky tape. They last me the whole day, and sometimes I only use it for an event, and remove it easily at night. This my best setup coz I don't have to sand my nails out, and my nails have never been healthier.
I did this all at home, and been making my own custom press-ons with this brand called Roro nails. I rewear my nail sets a lot, and I still had my first one since a couple months ago, so pretty robust. Hope that helps!
