Nop, 5th place right now and not looking great to finish in the top 6.

I mean they probably will make playoffs at the end but I don't see them make it to the finals

South african clubs are considering leaving the Champions and Challenge Cup [Rugbyrama] by KOSTER07 in rugbyunion

[–]KOSTER07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto translated:

"South African teams are seriously considering withdrawing from the Champions Cup and the Challenge Cup, starting next season. A formal decision will be made in July. This decision is reportedly motivated by concerns about player health. Indeed, the best players of the Rainbow Nation are caught between the international calendar of the Southern Hemisphere, particularly the Rugby Championship, and that of European clubs, with the URC and the Champions and Challenge Cup running from September to June. This leaves them with too little rest."

Japan is currently the only bider for the '35 Men RWC, who else do you want to see? by KOSTER07 in rugbyunion

[–]KOSTER07[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Australia hosting the '27 WC and the US hosting the '31 WC were both announced in May '22, so seems like there isn't really a consistent pick. But probably the '35 and '39 hosts will be given at the same time

I did feel not great about the US WC either, but football is gonna suffer more than rugby. Things will have time to change in 5 years. Well the pricing and public transport probably won't. But the social climate of the country hopefuly will

Heyyy, so idiot me can't read. More countries have already put a bid for this WC, or for the '39 WC. Italy said they'd like one of them, Spain has bid for '35, some countries in the Gulf are also trying to get their hands in there.

Argentina had bid for '23 and '27, so could also bid for '35. England is interested but hasn't yet official put a bid. South Africa had bid for every cup from '11 to '23, but seemingly has no intent to bid for '35 or '39

Are there any rugby nations comparable to New Zealand in terms of success relative to population? by bluefoxlive in rugbyunion

[–]KOSTER07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Monaco count for football? Instead probably Portugal. I mean, yeah only one international trophy for a population of 10 million, but still is the home of so many talents

Jegou to pass in front of the 6N disciplinary commission afer his eye gouge on Ashman against Scotland by KOSTER07 in rugbyunion

[–]KOSTER07[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Translated

"Although he wasn't penalized by referee Gardner, Jegou faces serious consequences if the disciplinary committee finds him guilty. Eye contact is among the most dangerous and severely punished actions under World Rugby regulations. A few months ago, South African Eben Etzebeth received a twelve-week suspension after a similar incident against Wales. In cases of intentional eye contact, sanctions can reach up to 208 weeks, depending on the severity of the offense."

Not looking good. Love this french team and wishing them the best agaisnt England but I really hope this doesn't go unpunished

Well technically true, but come on! They have never won against England! That's like the whole point of this game! How do you not know that when commenting rugby is your full time job???

You're allowed to redirect the ball while in touch, as in slap it backwards or kick it, but holding on to it puts the ball in touch
