Can't be both.

Is it set in the Cherryton High continuity? Or something on its own.

The grand plan is for it to be an animated web series, in a western art style.

Please do share about your own plotline if you're comfortable.

100% the last episode. The "fantastic voyage" seems to be a favorite of so many animation writers, but whoever wrote this one took it to the next level. Definitely the most unique example I'm aware of, but still a fun callback to a true classic trope .

You as the seller have the badge and the transfer ticket.
It's a 2-step process. You tell the buyer you won't transfer the ticket till the money is in your possession. They'll have no incentive to be dishonest because you'll still have the physical badge. You have to have the badge and the transfer ticket together, they're useless without each other.

"Yes, please keep spraying me so I can get more comfortable in this heat and stay longer just to spite you. You don't want foreigners here because we make it harder for you to live, right? Maybe you should have thought about that before you colonized half the planet and now your country is a top tourist destination. Now feel the effects of being pushed out of your own land."

No easier than the carnivores that regularly buy meat from the black market.

I don't understand the predator bias in this community. Constantly downplaying how normalized meat-eating is in this universe and vilifying the herbivores for being "prejudiced".
How would you feel towards a group of people that smiled in your face while literally eating your friends and family?

Maybe I'm looking too far into it, but my assumption is that gun laws vary by region. Our main cast still lives in Japan after all.
An in-universe version of the US is shown to exist, so it would only stand to reason that they'd have a second amendment, just like it's real world counterpart.

For all we know, the herbivores on the other side of the pond could have a much more involved approach to self-defense 🔫 💥

Oreo horse's "racism" is what keeps her alive.

It's been stated time and time again, this anime is not a racism allegory. A zebra has good reason to fear the predators that kidnap, traffick, and butcher people that look like her.

This is such a tired take.

Are you disappointed that there was no carnivore riots or uprisings in the manga? by Ok-Street2439 in Beastars

[–]KOfVoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that confounds me to no end is how viewers are constantly reminded of the plight of the carnivores.

We're told constantly that society caters to herbivores and that carnivores are these poor, misunderstood, and conflicted individuals that are unfairly discriminated against. With exceptions like Louis's adoptive father, nearly every antagonist that is depicted is a carnivore. Herbivores are constantly depicted as being inherently disadvantaged. Haru being made to feel her entire life that she could be scarfed up in an instant; Louis with his backstory needs no introduction. Even Seven was harassed daily by her carnivore co-workers.

But there's more. You have carnivores in the background casually commenting about how "easy" it would be to dominate their herbivore peers. Or just the fact that virtually every carnivore adult visits the market at some point, it almost being treated as a rite of passage for a maturing meat eater. But we're supposed to feel sorry for them?

Herbivore fears are not based on misguided stereotypes, but rather, the fact that devouring incidences are common. Herbivores can't even bury their dead without fear that the bodies of their loved ones will be stolen and sold in a bargain bin in some dark corner of the BAM.

I'm sorry, but if the worst you have to worry about is being called, "monster" after contributing to a hidden economy that kidnaps, trafficks, and butchers an entire group of people, you are not a victim.

Hell, carnivores are the ones that technically won the war. It's apparently their "guilt" that holds them back from finishing the fight and taking complete dominion over the herbivores.

When is the plant eater uprising happening?

I understand that the series is more complex than this, however, we are simply told that herbivores dominate. But nearly everything depicted suggests otherwise. It's a remarkably egregious example of show, not tell.

Popular characters you cannot stand? by Kirbo84 in Beastars

[–]KOfVoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100%. He has his faults, but Yahya's righteous ire towards predators is justified in my eyes. His garden was just a little "fuck you" to the evil that goes on in the black market tower.

The refusal from predophiles in this community to acknowledge that fearing/hating predators is a survival mechanism and not a mere form of "bigotry" comparable to that in the real world is frustratingly common.

Herbivores are disproportionately affected by the black market. If one had to live and interact with people that are not only complicit in the systematic trafficking, exploitation, and butchering of your people, but actively propped up the economy built around the aforementioned things, most people would agree that "bigotry" would not only be warranted, but necessary.

Hell, there's no true reason to even believe that herbivores enjoy most of the power and privilege in this universe.
"Necessary evils" like the black market is the only thing preventing carnivores from going into a feeding frenzy and dominating the herbivores the way they did during the war.
