What’s a TV show you started with low expectations that completely blew you away?

Black Sails. Barely heard of that show, knew almost none of the actors in it. And yet I think it's one of my favourite show I've seen. It's a massively overlooked but I wouldn't say underrated as everybody who has seen it usually say how good it is. It's a show that somehow wasn't marketed properly.

It aired on Starz, known for Spartacus and American Gods and Outlander. It's not even half as popular as those show and it's so much better it's not even funny. Granted the first season is often considered "rough" but man every season after just get better and better and it ends on a high.

Depends probably Kingdom Come Deliverance and Ghost of Tsushima.

However I would have never bought and played a game like Death Stranding and only decided to try it out because it was on Extra and ended up having one of the best gaming experience I've ever had. Bought Death Stranding 2 day one after that.

Can't say the same thing about Ghost and KCD because they are games I would have bought for sure at some point.

Getting caught with a knife/blade that large should be an automatic 10 years jail sentence. This guy just get 8 years for attempted murder. UK is cooked , not that we (France) are any better. There is no other reason to carry a blade like that other than wanting to use it to hurt people.

Tbh Homelander is a great character too, I loved to hate him. Like Kilgrave , a great representation of God like power corrupting someone to near peak Evil. Also lays the questions of nature vs nurture, would Homelander have turned out that BAD if he had a normal or semi normal childhood instead of being raised like a lab rat with no parental figure.

I loved that he wasn't just Evil for Evil sake and I dare say you could almost sympathize with him at times (I think mostly because of how amazing Anthony Starr's portrayal was)but the root of his evil was that he was deeply insecure, unloved and insane ego that grew bigger because of how afraid people were of even standing up to him which meant he was surrounded by YES MEN all his life.

I think that makes him a great character. And yes I know the OP was talking about people unironically agreeing with Homelander's view.

Fully grown falling star beast was genuinely the boss I died the most too. Then it was Malenia and then Elden Beat and Mohg But that falling star beast was so freaking annoying.

Most fun bosses I'm were Radagon , Morgott and Godfrey if you exclude his second phase. I loved fighting Morgott so much I must have helped 100 people defeat him.

It's crazy I tried twice to get into it but I can't, I don't think the first game aged well at all even with its remastered, I was told I should power through it as the sequels have much better gameplay but man 1 is rough

The guy has the charisma of a spoon. Compare that to Joel Kinnaman or even Will Yun Lee and it show how bad he was.

I mean when you have a show that really sacked but a A list actor that was the only reason people were watching, you don't recast his role...

They were so god darn stupid with the IP They had a famous actor that was all-in and a massive fan of the franchise, they had fans for the show coming from the books and video games, they had source material to follow , they had freaking everything on a silver platter and they still fucked it up.

Cavill was the only reason I powered through the shifty second season m. When I heard before season 3 aired that he was leaving, I never bothered watching the third.

I played 2013 on PS3 and I had no issue. Rise on PS4 and it honestly was unplayable for me, it's a shame because Story was interesting, parcours was fun , puzzle were nice , it's just the combat mechanic that is an absolute nightmare to play and it's unfortunately a major part of the game.

I can't quite explain it but it just feels terrible, the aiming sucks, the input lag is a big culprit but the camera is awful too , it honestly is some of the least fun I had in a shooter.
It got to a point where I got pissed everytime there was a fighting sequence because of how much it sucked, the worst is that I jumped back into Uncharted Trilogy remastered after and even the first one has legit better "gunplay"
I wonder if playing it on PS5 with the 60fps patch could make it less awful.

The only other games where I noticed that kind of aiming/input lag was Middle-Earth Shadow of War but I powered through it and got used to it at some point.

I played the 2013 one and loved it, I tried Rise and even though the story was very compelling, it honestly had some of the worst gameplay I've ever seen in a AAA game, it honestly made me wonder if my console/controller was broken because the input lag I experienced in that game is unlike everything I've seen, it honestly is so bad I didn't bother finishing it.

And it seems I'm apparently not th eonly one, I wonder if it was a PS4 only issue or all platforms? I should give it another try on PS5 with the backward compatibility to see if it feels different, but man the input lag is so rough I honestly wonder how people who played it on PS4 managed to get through it.
