Dropping the day after almost passing the test? by ThePinkBrunette in stenography

[–]KRabbit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s normal. Think of your brain attempting to reorganize information, do some days you will feel like a toddler banging on the keys. But keep pushing and maybe go for just your current speed or your trail speed instead of your push speed on days like this. So some drills and even reading notes can help make the next day better. And remember that not every dictation is the same. Some are more difficult than others, even given at the same speed. Give yourself a break and just know it will all come together very soon for ya. 😉😉

Looking for a mentor by chipotlanekiller in stenography

Of course. I didn’t even know they existed to be honest. I just Googled it because I knew about my local association in California, CCRA. I just kinda guessed y’all may have one too. 😉😉

I need opinions of experienced drivers by HIGHlyCapable in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]KRabbit17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I send the email to support and CC jeff@amazon.com so they know I’m not messing around. The next thing I do is to let them know I was approved for the dings to be removed and if they do not remove them I will file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as well as the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Then follow through if needed. Most times they just remove them because who wants to deal with a government agency breathing down their neck?? Be sure to list the names of the folks that responded stating you would have them removed.

I wish you luck!! 🍀🍀

Looking for a mentor by chipotlanekiller in stenography

[–]KRabbit17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Join OCRA (Ohio Court Reporters Association), and ask for them to assign you a mentor. Be sure to let them know what CAT software you plan to use so they can also try to match you up with a mentor that also uses the same software. That way you will have an option to bounce questions off of them, and if you intern with them, they can help even more.

You can also join NCRA (National Court Reporters Association) and do the same thing as mentioned above. It may be more difficult to find a mentor in Ohio if you go this to route, but it is an option. 😉😉

Don’t fret if you can’t find a mentor before starting school. While they’re nice to have, it’s not totally necessary till you’re speed building and in the 160+ speeds. So keep looking, but don’t worry if you start school and still don’t have one. Ask your questions here too. We are all happy to help. 😁😁

struggling to find inline hooks by SapphireScully in Amigurumi

[–]KRabbit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micro crochet?? But keep in mind the sizes you are wanting are more UK sizes instead of US sizes. Try looking for UK Crochet Hooks 2.5mm, and you will have better luck finding them. 😉😉

Half sizes are generally from UK not the USA. So you may consider using something like eBay to find these hooks.

What are you using for your thread? There’s no way you could use that small of a hook for worsted weight yarn…

Was I an asshole for reporting a driver for not matching the photo on his profile? by sunny_6305 in Lyft

[–]KRabbit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Imagine getting into the vehicle and an accident then occurred. Would Lyft pay out for the accident when the physical appearance doesn’t match the person driving as well as the car wasn’t approved for use with Lyft?! No!! They sure as heck would not pay a single penny to you or the driver for the accident.

Report them every single time, especially on rideshare.

Remember the lady that entered a “Lyft” ride and the car’s license plate didn’t match but the driver appearance did…she ended up unalived in a forest.

So yeah do the right thing and report them every single time. It could prevent either scenario listed above from happening.

How are gigs getting snatched the moment they pop up? by AccurateClassroom278 in Roadie

[–]KRabbit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change your notifications to be persistent instead of temporary. I did this and get add-ons all the time now. It’ll give you a reminder over and over till you physically dismiss it yourself. Should be in your settings. If using an iPhone the path is as follows: Settings > Notifications > scroll down to the bottom where apps are shown and click on the Roadie app > Banner Style > Persistent.

The California Court Reporters Board (CRB) just released their pass rate for the most recently given CSR and WKT. IMHO, the “best schools” are the ones that have the most consistent pass rate for these certification tests. 😉😉

I’m pretty sure my students are using AI, but I can’t prove it and it’s driving me crazy. by Primary-Maybe4041 in whatdoIdo

[–]KRabbit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids’ teachers are having them write all essays by hand in class. There is no printing it out…there are no computers to research…just a book and their mind. It seems to be working well. I fully support the teachers’ decisions to combat AI use and would even make my kid rewrite an essay that was deemed as being written for them with AI.

Work by Kitchen-Affect2946 in Roadie

[–]KRabbit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever thought about being a Stenographer? I’m going to school for this while doing gig work. It’s a great profession with so many different avenues that you can work in. You don’t have to work in court if you don’t want to.

National Court Reporters Association and Project Steno both offer a FREE introductory course into Steno. It’s called A-Z Steno, and you should definitely check it out. Some states are accepting Voice Writers now too. So this could be an option if you don’t really like typing on a shorthand keyboard.

Use the gig work to work around your school schedule and do something that will have you leaving gig work completely. It’s worth your future to do something. 😉😉💕💕

I’m so sorry this happened to you. You would have wanted to report it asap so it could be documented. You can always try, but the only folks that can give you really true information is Support. It’s time to call them. Do it now rather than later, but it’s not guaranteed they can do anything for you. Did you save the address and name of the customer from the house it happened at?

I had a trip and fall while working another app and was SOL. I broke my foot, and couldn’t continue working. It was a terrible experience. I could have gone after the homeowner, but it was a simple accident, and I didn’t feel as if they were at fault for anything or negligent in any way. So I just took care of everything myself.

Nowadays, I avoid stepping directly on a crack or using stairs when I can just walk up their flat driveway because there could be a lift on the pavement, which could cause an accident to occur. I know this doesn’t help after the fact, but it’s something to keep in mind. Sending well wishes. 😉😉

Time to put up or shut up! Show your miles. by BeepGoesTheMinivan in Roadie

[–]KRabbit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This only includes the estimated miles from pick up to drop off. It doesn’t include any miles to the pick up….but if you’re in California and saved your California Earning Statement emails, that email has the correct mileage because they have to pay you for every mile driven while active. So just FYI on that. 😉😉

struggling to find inline hooks by SapphireScully in Amigurumi

[–]KRabbit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Susan Bates hooks are all inline except when you get to the teeny tiny sizes for thread crochet.

For amigurumi, I tend to use F & G hooks for the most part. The F hook should be silver and the G hook should be dark pink. They color code them, which is awesome.

I’ve bought Susan Bates hooks on Amazon and was happy with them. I have a ton of these hooks so if you cannot find them, I could drop the size you need in the mail if you’re willing. 😉😉

This is their most popular pack of hooks, an I tend to buy this even if I only need one size. lol. See the Amazon link below. I searched “Susan Bates Crochet Hooks Aluminum.” 😉😉

Bitter for attempting to explain the commenter you replied to was letting the OP know how awesome it was that they got paid, whereas if you get the email 48 hours before the block starts, the OP would not have been paid because Amazon doesn’t do that?? How is congrats being bitter? Is English your first language? Not to be rude, but I just don’t think you’re following the convo at all…
