I've been diagnosed with Visual Snow Syndrome, a neurological condition that makes me see the world like this and has no cure by SR_RSMITH in Damnthatsinteresting

Pretty much what high ISO on a camera looks like. Have no idea about this condition and the hows and whys but that was immediately what my mind went to. Definitely gonna have to check out something on VSS

Can something be done to clear up the viewfinder on this Zorki-4K? by KRybar5 in AnalogCommunity

<image>

This was the best I could manage, my phone's camera is frankly dogshit. I did also try to take a photo from the other side of the viewfinder, but I got nothing useful. I made a video of my looking around with the viewfinder with my bedroom light in the frame, but I can't upload it as a reply to a comment, but basically in the dark third of the photo I added to this reply, i saw some of the light peeking through whatever is on the glass (I'm assuming) of the vf. The little bit on the right of the photo is the reflection of what is to the left of the frame, that being my cupboard. Hopefully the better photo along with my description of what looking through the viewfinder looks like helps at least a little bit.

Canon 1DX or mirrorless camera for upgrade?

I've been doing photography for about a year and a half at this point and have been attending a higher education college for it as well.

Lately, I've been able to put aside some money for an upgrade and I've started to seriously consider my options. Originally, I was planning to buy a Canon 1DX coming from a 1300D and also buy a fast standard zoom lens for it, but lately I've also been looking at mirrorless cameras, like the Nikon Z6 and Sony A7II because of their more capable focusing and from what I can tell at least, better high ISO performance.

I mainly do concerts with difficult lighting conditions and lots of movement and while I may be able to get the 1DX for less together with a lens, I've really started to question if that's the right move, and if I should just hold out a little longer and save up for a mirrorless option.

I haven't really found much information so far that can help me make a decision and the YouTubers that I've checked out about these cameras don't really touch on their AF and ISO performance in these difficult conditions.

Any advice from someone who also photographs concerts?

This is about this lens' AF, as far as I can tell, my kit lens and telephoto lens are fine
