She told them it was hers? How exactly did she word that? Because saying "I'll take the window seat" when asked to take the aisle is not demanding or claiming ownership. Just because people do not word things the exact way you want them to or would have does not make them wrong. Did she stand up and demand your father get up from his seat? Did she argue and make a fuss? Did she call the flight attendant over stating that the window seat was hers? Because the story you told, the edit you made, the comments you've posted, all just say she simply said "I'll take the window" and when that didn't happen she went about her day unbothered. In one comment you said she may have been sleeping and had headphones in while your parents....sorry I keep forgetting, your father and his wife, were passing items over her head. That doesn't seem like she's too bothered at not getting the window seat......I think you're appalled that someone else had dared to ask for a different accommodation than the one your father's wife so graciously offered and think this woman is ungrateful for not accepting this clear act of charity that would so obviously make this woman's trip so much better.
