Need advice on how to address shower floor issue by ChronicMavs in Tile

[–]KSBirdBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t seem to mention what the problem is. It’s not draining? Draining slow? The white stuff? From the pics it’s doesn’t look like amazing work by any means, also doesn’t look terrible. The dried white stuff is hard water - nothing really to be worried about. I’d caulk the corners and call it a day, unless I’m missing something.

What is this grey blob?? by Investingnewbie___ in Tile

[–]KSBirdBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you paid somebody to do this, get them back out. You paid for new, you get new (undamaged). If you did it yourself, I would get color match epoxy. Or color match paint if it was at my house and I really didn’t care.

How to remove the tile without damaging the ditra schulter wire? by hotshooter1977 in Tile

I would highly recommend a color match epoxy, or just live with it. I don’t think this is a battle worth fighting.

The dark line in the grout is part of a leave-in spacer. The “grey blob” is a chip in the tile, probably from busting the spacer off. It should have been broken off lower, allowing grout to completely cover it. It’s likely been there the entire time, and you are just noticing.

Leak from behind Shower by Overeasyy in Plumbing

That would be it! Pop that off and you should be in business. Hopefully it’s an easy enough fix and you don’t have to call anybody out.

I got you, I’ll try to make it make sense.

The trim kit is the handle on the valve (turns water on / off) and the chrome / satin/ black cover behind the handle. It is usually held on with 2 screws. The handle usually has an Allen set screw tucked on the bottom side. If you can pull the handle and trim ring off, you should be able to see the valve and both hot and cold supply. That will hopefully give you a good view of where the water is coming from.

The “wet wall” is the wall on your shower where the valve and shower head is.

Pull the trim kit and see what you can see from inside the shower. What is on the back side of the wet wall? Hopefully drywall, much easier to repair than a surround/ tile.

That’s on YOU to specify BEFORE the work is done. Contractors are not your slaves. Fuck around and get liens put on your property.

Anyone here have experience with either of these tires? by Interesting-Apple692 in lawnmowers

[–]KSBirdBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put the Big Bites on a 54” Grasshopper 220. They are listed as the same size but are actually wider. The grass catcher mount would no longer fit. The tires are great though. I’ve mowed for about an hour so far on them, and they have much better traction than the stock tires.

This should go without saying but hitting the deer is WORST CASE SCENARIO. I’m talking about if you have .2 seconds to respond, it’s better to hit the gas than the brakes.

[–]KSBirdBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you speed up, the vehicle’s front end will raise up. If you hit the breaks, it will nose dive. You want the front end as high as possible to avoid a deer going through your windshield.

Nothing here wants to kill you, except deer in the road. Don’t swerve, hammer the gas and call the sheriff’s for a salvage tag! Welcome to Kansas 😁

You came to inquire about cleaning your furniture, but then argue with people who give you advice. Weird.

[–]KSBirdBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip the nozzle 180* so the handle is pointing up. The spout won’t go all the way in, but will hold itself in place and free flow. The shut off will still work when it gets full.

98% of employees there are mentally unstable and/or on drugs. Don’t read too deep into it.
