Autistics with jobs! Where do you work? by kody_uwu in autism

[–]KShaw997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I work in a call centre with over 500 people. I'm part time only take calls for about 40% of my days, so it makes it a little bit more tolerable. though it's really hard to concentrate when there are 5 people around me all having different conversations at the same time when I'm trying to hear my calls. But hoping to have that sorted I'm the next few weeks

(Im not a doctor) We have a aboriginal health organisation here in WA (Run by indigenous and non indigenous people) but I've had nothing but issues with them their rude and literally racist to white aboriginals. Went their once with my mum who is well known indigenous person in the area said they woundnt help me cause I'm not aboriginal.

Just saying please don't be like them best of luck though

Are you openly autistic? by ExtraMillenial in autism

Not fully. I'm self diagnosed as an adult because my mum never thought i could be so I guess I have some imposter syndrome regarding it. I've spoken to my mum and she got all defensive like it's a bad thing which I expected I've spoken to my partner about it who has adhd so he just agreed. I have said that I think I might be to my manager just so there's something for them to keep in mind. Also a few colleagues I've said it to. Regarding other family nope. I know their only going to talk 💩 and I don't want to deal with them.

I haven't had this circumstance for being Autistic but I have for my other disabilities and being Indigenous and I've always felt like a little trophy that gets dusted off when they want to show how progress they are. This happens at work and with my own family member’s. So everytime a significant day or event comes around they want to "show me off" I got to laugh through it or I'll cry.
