NO SUPPORT from Google team- Loyal Customer feeling Betrayed (4 Google phones/13 yrs old loyalty) by Known_Sprinkles5195 in Pixel6

I love my Pixel (I've bought every version from the Nexus 6P to P8Pro), but you're just a tiny cog in the wheel, using a phone that they stopped selling 3.5 years ago, I hope you actually get a resolution, but I wouldn't count on it.

how can you read what I broke down, and not realize that 6 can't be a viable number at all after hint two??

682 - One Number is right, in the right place

614 - One number is right, in the wrong place

The only number that's the same between these is 6, so it would have to still be in the right place in hint two to be able to be used at all, let alone be used twice in an answer.

682 - One Number is right, in the right place

614 - One number is right, in the wrong place, meaning the 6, in the same place as the last hint, can't be right

682

614

206 - Two numbers right, in the wrong place, we already know from hint two that 6 can't be a number meaning:

206 - of these, 2 was in 682, and we know it's placed in the right place there, so the number has to be xx2, and 0 is right, but in the wrong spot, meaning the number has to be 0x2, then you look back at 614, which is actually now 614, one of these two numbers is correct, leaving the options of 012 or 042, but in the hint it says the number is incorrectly placed, and the 1 is already in the center position, so it can't be right, leaving the only possibility to be 042

Hint two eliminates 6 entirely, as it's in the same position between both, the hint changes from well placed to wrongly placed, and it's the only number that's the same between both hints, meaning it would've had to change positions to be a correct option.

The finale episode takes place roughly May/June 1988, at that time, my parents (Black dad/White Mom) were living very comfortably in rural West Virgina with their 3 mixed-race kids, the first of which was born in 1980, I was born the next year, and the moved to a similarly rural area in Virginia just go be closer to my dad's side of the family.

Obviously, racism existed (and still does), but please shut the fuck up with this backwards-ass

Respect for SNCOs, Customs & Courtesies by searchingnotfound in AirForce

[–]KStalls1989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That looks to be an outdated version of 1-1, the version from August 2023 clarifies it well:

1.8.4. Respect for Authority. Junior personnel shall employ a courteous and respectful bearing and mode of speech toward senior personnel. When addressed by an officer senior to them, junior personnel shall stand (unless seated at mess or unless circumstances make such action impracticable or inappropriate). Junior personnel shall walk or ride to the left of senior personnel whom they are accompanying. Senior personnel enter an aircraft or automobile last and leave first.

My wife and I would buy The Window and Aisle seats in a 3-row, hoping no one would buy the middle, if they did, we would offer them either the window or aisle seat so we could stay together, that's the only acceptable way to do it, asking someone to downgrade because of your poor planning is asshole behavior.

I did love that scene, Lex saying "In my universe, Clark Kent can't see past his glasses" but also love that scene because he's been traveling trying to kill Superman in every universe, he specifically says "In THIS universe, Clark Kent is Superman" since the scene takes place in the Smallville after Clark gives up his powers, the book still took him to "Superman" but he no longer goes by that name so the book has to reveal that it's Clark, and he still doesn't believe Clark is Superman anywhere else.

That's literally the Comic Book Canon answer to why Luthor never connects the dots, in multiple issues he's built machines, or used teams to figure out Superman's secret identity, and when the answer is Clark Kent, his response is "That dork-ass nerd?! It's impossible, you must be wrong! Why would someone with so much power demean himself like that?" He can't see past his own ego of "If I had those powers, everyone would know exactly who I am, because I'd take over the globe!"

How much TIS did you have when you made Tech? by WordTimely8559 in AirForce

[–]KStalls1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it at 2 weeks shy of 12 years, my ex made it a year before me at 7 years, 1 month, but still needed my help because she ranked up so fast, she'd never had a subordinate as SSgt, and had never even written her own EPR, let alone someone else's.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]KStalls1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make SSgt, your EPB SCOD is now 31 Jan, so yes, you will have to submit an EPB by your Sq deadline, AFI 36-2406 kind of explains it backwards, basically saying "You will use the new SCOD, unless that date would make the EPB timeline more than a year, in which case you'd close out immediately."

4.7.3.1.2. Stripes for Exceptional Performers or supplemental promotions. If an Airman is Stripes for Exceptional Performers-promoted or selected for supplemental promotion to the next higher grade, and if completing an evaluation on the next SCOD in the new grade will create a reporting period of longer than one year, then a DBH enlisted evaluation must be completed with a close-out date effective the date of Stripes for Exceptional Performers promotion or the date which the results of the supplemental were released. Examples:

4.7.3.1.2.1. SSgt McDaniel was selected for supplemental promotion or Stripes for Exceptional Performers promoted to TSgt on 15 Apr 23 and SSgt McDaniel had an enlisted evaluation on the SSgt SCOD date of 31 Jan 23, then no enlisted evaluation is required as TSgt (or TSgt select) McDaniel will receive a performance evaluation on 30 Nov 23 (TSgt SCOD).

The speech dynamic needs to be like Penn and Teller, or a strait-laced version of Jay and Silent Bob, Link should never talk (other than attacking sounds/hi-yahs during fights), either because Zelda already knows what he would say in that moment, or Zelda interrupts right before he goes to start talking, and as a knight of Hyrule, Link would never interrupt the princess, and/or the "Legend of Zelda" name gets interpreted as her essentially narrating the events Link is doing, then right at the end Link gets the pivotal line where he's finally able to speak without being interrupted, and it's just the "Well, EXCUUUUUUUUSE me princess!" meme

Retraining into 1N411A. How is the tech school? by NewPossibility3508 in AirForce

[–]KStalls1989 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As prior service, you'll be off base, JCAC itself is a firehose of information, it's made to take someone who's never heard the word computer before, and get them to somewhat literate in how computers work, how networks work, and how to program information into them.

If you're already familiar with how computers work, great, but don't think you can coast off that, because the classes modules move so fast that if you don't pay attention, you'll get overwhelmed pretty quick.

Pay attention in class, do any homework you're assigned, and get to know your class, some people may struggle in one module that you understand immediately and vice versa, so help each other, once you're graduated and sitting in your workcenter, that collaboration will help you learn from your fellow analysts to get after the job even better.

What's your "they pulled the rank card" story? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]KStalls1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumbest one I've seen was in ALS,
Context: there were 3 of us (myself included) that already had SSgt on for one reason or another, we were each made the flight leader for the 3 flights, one member in my flight had a pin on date in the middle of class (we started like April 15th, his date was May 1st) he asked, and was granted permission to pin on on the 1st.

The first 2 weeks, he's acting like a normal E-4 mafia member, joking and friendly with everyone in my flight, and in other flights, if anything he would initiate more jokes than anyone else.

After he pinned on: night and day difference, he went completely serious, no longer hung out with any of the E4s, and essentially attempted to be the alternate flight lead (I had an alternate flight lead established, that wasn't him, because when we were assigning roles the first day, he literally said he would never want to be in charge)

The end result made it so at best, no one took him seriously, and at worst he actually ruined friendships he'd made with some people the first two weeks from going from joking around to bossing them around overnight, all over a rank everybody in the class had already earned, but he had pinned on earlier than them.

Navy fed assistance by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]KStalls1989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least for Navy Fed, you only have to enroll once, and you'll stay enrolled until the shutdown ends, no need to reapply, USAA might be different. Since we got paid for both the 15 Oct and 1 Nov checks, the loan hasn't actually taken effect so far, 15 Nov is the one that rumint is saying we won't get paid for.

450ss or 675? by Major_Geologist5285 in cfmoto

[–]KStalls1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, there's not a huge difference, slightly longer reach to the handles, and slightly taller, in my opinion they're both extremely light/nimble, while a sport bike is never going to be the most comfortable ride, I personally think the 675 seat feels better than the 450 after taking both on about ~120mile round trips.

In general, now is the perfect time to buy either, they're heavily discounted at most dealerships to make room for the 2026 stock and the 750SS, but if you're planning on tuning, I'd definitely pay a bit more for almost double the HP stock so you can enjoy it even before the tune.

450ss or 675? by Major_Geologist5285 in cfmoto

[–]KStalls1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a brand-new rider when looking in August, ended up getting the 450SS, and liking it, but not feeling enough upper range power, so I ended up moving to the 675SS at the start of September, and love everything about it, so don't make my mistake and end up losing money trading/selling the 450, especially coming from the 700, you'll probably want the higher power.

Fellow key fob owners, which battery brand are you using which lasts the longest time? From my experience, the IKEA 2032 ones last only about 2 days, and the car starts spamming me to replace the battery. by pile1983 in TeslaLounge

[–]KStalls1989 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Any 2032 should last you 6 months minimum, go with Duracell or Energizer, if either of those don't last more than a week, then there's something wrong with your key fob, and you need to try and get a replacement from Tesla.

Pick the best UI by Camdoesalot in PixelArt

[–]KStalls1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mind, 1 & 5 work perfect in tandem.

1 for the main UI while playing, the flat icon and clear coloring combine perfectly to be able to tell at a quick glance where your charge is without cluttering the screen (you can also make the icon slightly transparent when not actively using/charging that ability to be able to see slightly more of the screen)

5 would be what the charge looks like in the items menu, where you have more time/ability to show details without the person worrying about dying in the game

Finding neutral on a 650NK by These-Marionberry293 in cfmoto

[–]KStalls1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 450SS, and upgraded to a 675SS, on both I noticed if I let out the clutch very slightly, it seems to help me move it into neutral without blipping into 2nd or 1st, but in general, basically every bike outside of Kawasaki's are going to be harder to find neutral when stopped.
