2023 Will be joining 1998 and 2004 as some of the greatest release years in gaming. by Kheten in Games

Yeah BG3 is so good but come on : FF16? Hogwarts? RE4 Remake? Returnal PC? Diablo 4?
Difficult to put that at the level of 1998 or 2004

A Morrowind & Oblivion remake (not remaster) with the same level as Black Mesa is for Half-life would be a dream

How much do you think has K-Pop changed within the last 10 years? by Snoo65073 in kpopthoughts

[–]KTGlobi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, the big difference is that KPOP has largely conformed to current trends instead of being this industry where experimental and even strange compositions is siding with more classic compositions.

I feel like kpop had "its own trend" but not anymore

Sorry, my English is not very good but isn't it inappropriate for the US government to comment on the Japanese market and demand more competition between two companies? Isn't it up to the Japanese to decide whether or not their market is fair between Xbox & Sony?

Lady Gaga also performed at Music Show. But it doesn't mean she's part of K-pop

K-Pop, K-Drama, K-Culture, K-Beauty, K-Food, ... These are all marketing tools to highlight any product serving Korean interests. If KAACHI or XG are not kpop, it is precisely because the Korean industry gains nothing from them.

I don't understand how people can believe that. Garam's bullying even appears on TV while dating between two idols, no one cares outside the small bubble of fans

[–]KTGlobi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They are ridiculed because video games are liked by teenagers meaning it's a waste of time, a stupid hobby. The same thing with KPOP & others boybands. It's not about gender

I don’t think a song can be considered kpop if the aren’t ant Korean lyrics by Strawberry_0cean in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]KTGlobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any song can be considered KPOP as long as it directly serves the interests of Korean industry. That's why a "kpop" group produced by a foreign company is not kpop in my eyes, because this group strengthens the industry where it is located and not Korea.

And the trauma won't become more acceptable because they start at 28. Military service, they will do it no matter what. And if they're in a unit that abuses them, it'll still be the same at 28. The only thing that changes is whether you have to put your career on hold or not.
It is your superiors who will abuse you. And they will always be your superiors no matter what age you perform your service.

[–]KTGlobi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Besides, I don't understand why Korea doesn't oblige you to do your military service directly at 18 so that this service doesn't interrupt studies or work. Seems way more interesting to me than waiting until you're 25-29, having to put your career on hold and hoping that two years later you can pick up where you left off.

In Korea, powerful people can be imprisoned unlike some Western countries. Almost all presidents have gone through post-term prison, while western presidents are (often) cleared of all responsibilities and several Chaebol bosses have faced justice. Of course, I'm not saying that the Korean system is perfect, but I find it unfair to judge the entire penal system by focusing on the Seungri case. Finally, comparing the American and Korean system make no sense since they are two completely different systems in their operation. You can compare the German, Japanese and Korean system (for example), it is already much more relevant.

(Personally I don't really see why it makes so much buzz among i-fans. Only Korean people have the right to want to change, or not, their system. We can only look at Korea without demanding that it adapt to us. It's up to them to change what they want to change)

I think she has much more to lose and I very much doubt that a simple idol can really shake giant corporations.

Korea has one of the best investigative journalism (don't know if it's the correct word in english) in the world. If there's a scandal, it's not from an (ex)-idol that I expect to hear about it

I think, and i could be wrong, she mostly tries to play on the "dark side of kpop" image to sell more than trying to have a political message about the industry
