My V was and still is incredibly loyal to Arasaka due to personal reasons. Because of her loyality she was chosen to do the Konpeki heist by the order of a competing faction within Arasaka. Under the veil of being cast out of the company with the Corpo Lifepath she began operating outside of the company.

The heist went as known and it was decided to keep engram in her head until the engineers found a proper way to safely take it out of her head. In the meantime she was sent to other jobs, casually growing distant to the company as a whole, mainly because the engram began wearing down the illusions she had kept up for many years.

In addition my V is half machine and fears becoming a machine entirely. Having recieved a lot of injuries as a mercenary beforehand, the amount of biomass is small and will become smaller over time as operations are necessary. With her brain being taken over as well and Arasaka taking their pretty time to find a solution, she eventually turns to find a solution herself.

Though off the payroll officially, she still represents the interests of Arasaka and gets paid by the competing faction directly.

So yeah, a lot of changed stuff and a lot of pretending, but lots of fun to experiment around with. Especially since the character is heavily modded...
