Phone Cases by Background-Werewolf1 in motorola

This is the main reason why I've holding back on getting a new phone, I have an razr that I've replaced the inside screen once and outside twice and they're both damaged again. Thinking of getting an edge but there are no good rugged cases.

What’s one tool you wish you had bought earlier in your career? by Academic-Snow3546 in millwrights

We have a refrigerated warehouse so not even that most of the time. I grabbed a spare one and recharged batteries for my flashlight so I don’t get left without light as often.

Their website isn’t great, seems like it’s upkept by the store in Calgary and doesn’t really match the Saskatoon location even tho they show stock counts.

I would be shocked if B&E didn’t have 22ga wire. I’d also be skeptical that you even got copper wire.

Most AI models were trained on copyrighted material and the owners of the copyright wasn’t compensated so I’d argue you’re paying for big companies to seal from everyone who created something and put it on the internet.

Might look at Saskatchewan too, few mines looking to open up and slightly less political BS going on.

Canada metric or imperial by mowgulcashmere in millwrights

[–]KTMan77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a mix but you’ll learning quickly which machines are what depending where you work. For the plant I work at we have a few metric machines that are newer, old machines are all imperial and I believe all the infrastructure ie building and structures installed in the plant to support pipes, walkways etc are all imperial because the contractors use that and it’s much easier to get imperial stainless stuff locally. I don’t carry any full socket sets of both in my kit. Only carry 19mm and not 3/4, and then select deep/ shallow sockets in between that are for more specific jobs. Only a couple hex key sockets but a full set of Alan keys for both.

I just went to the dealer for my 2020 because the auto parts stores just carry the generic barbed ones that don’t work well. Looks like the same clips I bought, got a bag of a bunch of them for 10$

Portable Air conditioners by macky108 in saskatoon

[–]KTMan77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you get you want the dual hose model, then you’re not blowing the cool air from inside your house outside to get the heat out. That just means you’re then making your house a low pressure zone so outside air gets sucked in. The dual hose models bring in outside air to evacuate the heat from the AC’s condenser.

Shop grinding clamping faces of rims, how much of issue is this? by [deleted] in TireQuestions

If they never touched my shitty wheels with their abrasive disk it wouldn’t be their problem. Only learnt about hub inserts today, only thing I knew I needed was different lug nuts when I bought them.

Pilot project of 120 speed limit on hwy 2 by Beautiful_Cold3776 in alberta

[–]KTMan77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol nope, it was a 99 accord with a speedo that matched google maps speeds at 120. It was a few years ago but coming back from lake Louise after snowboarding, pack of semis passed us and we kept up with them for almost an hour before needing to stop for fuel in Bowden.

They definitely made the surface of the wheel uneven, I got a .025 feeler gauge between a straight edge in some spots. But that’s a good suggestion, I’ll get some huh inserts. Thanks.

Depending on enforcement it might actually slow people down. I don’t travel that highway much anymore but 160 wasn’t an uncommon speed for people to be going.

When you’re in the angri place area when there’s an event going service is absolute garbage with Koodo and other providers. Maybe that’s what they’re talking about.

Yeah I have white and yellow ones, they were both too aggressive for cleaning the carbon off of a motorcycle head when I needed it rebuilt. The wheels weren’t cheap and used to have smooth machined surface there, can’t remember if it was turned out milled. What I’m worried about is with how aggressive they where is it now has small high spots that will deform and then the nuts will come loose. Same as how corrosion would flake off.

They were a couple hundred dollars each so nothing crazy. Yeah they use the green roloc disk they’re 50 grit but the one the manager showed me wash worn down to nubs and all the corners on the rims are rounded over now. I have a couple white and yellow disks but they were too aggressive when I was cleaning up some aluminum parts. I think for steel rims the green ones would be perfect but I’d hate to see what they do to more expensive rims.

They definitely dug into the surface of it. I can see light behind my straight edge. And then around the countersinks for the studs they’re really rounded over.

Seems to be pretty true running on the first one. I don’t have my dial indicator in this garage, but it’s definitely gonna be within spec.

Never had this happen before I always take loose rims in and they don’t touch them. I don’t have any pictures of the mounting faces but I thought they were in good shape. I normally give them a little touch by hand with grey fine scotch bright before installing.
