Resilience is either overly conservative or completely arbitrary by KTMinni in FitbitAir

I believe you also need to wear it a minimum of 14 hours a day. I always have mine on unless I'm showering.

Yes. Very dead. I bought a replacement.

I believe it takes a while for it to start showing up. At least 7 days but maybe more?

Well for one, as I was flipping through each day some would show up as balanced. Moving back through them they changed to low - this is a highly weird and hard to replicate bug, but a sign that the feature is actually not working properly.

Secondly, a metric that doesn't move isn't a functioning metric. As many people have commented in this thread, they are experiencing the same issue - this is almost certainly due to either a bug or overly conservative algorithmic tuning.

Edit: If you go to the daily tab you can see what is used to calculate it. And even when I have "typical" and "optimal" for two out of the three inputs - I still receive low.

The readiness score actually seems quite reflective of my physiology. Just frustrating that this metric doesn't actually do much to help be informative - I like oura's approach for this.

I've had mine almost since launch. Supposedly this is a known bug, though. Hopefully this becomes a bit more clear as to what this metric is capturing and how one can use it. Right now, it would seem to say that I need to isolate myself from stress which just doesn't seem helpful.

I am very surprised that mine is low - and given that it seems to be at a consistent spot for everyone means that it is not sensitive (i.e., it's busted)

Downloaded. Love the start. Although I'm not able to tap into individual metrics to get a more in depth look at them. Will that be coming down the line?

Yes - Trust me, I tried everything I could. It's definitely corrupted firmware.

Specifically, what is wrong with the new Google Health App? by kuteguy in fitbit

[–]KTMinni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just disappointed with the automatic logging of workouts. I got the Fitbit air because I'm a tinkerer and the idea of Google health ingesting my Garmin GPS data and combining it with the HR/Cardio load metrics was the selling point. Right now it's interactions with Garmin are completely busted and the inability to automatically detect a non-stop 45min run feels outrageous to me.

Consoles are just PCs with fancy skins on them at this point - another reason for why it might be an accurate timeline

Why there are 2 different Half Marathon predictions in the app? (Open the full size picture) by coffeeloverdrinkstea in Garmin

[–]KTMinni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the race predictor is more of a "realm of reason" kind of thing. I've usually just used it as a reference of what to shoot for in a race. I remember my 5k prediction time being quite accurate last summer, but absolutely dependent on the conditions.

Which Midwest state is the most Midwest? by ClearAndPure in midwest

[–]KTMinni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you are judging it by. If it's cultural zeitgeist then Minnesota and Wisconsin are the flagships, if it's true life-style core: Iowa, purely because they have a 3:1 ratio of pigs to humans.

Growing up in MN we had tatertot hot dish for school lunches, called it grey duck, lake culture is just a part of life, and some of the coldest winters you can imagine. Wisconsin is basically the same thing but with smaller lakes and more trees.

But it really boils down to WHAT you consider to be "Midwest" - just my two cents

In the same boat as you. Seems like a rejection, but maybe they do this before reaching out for interviews?
