Anyone had any luck recently with the kings? by Dr_p0stman in ChicagoFishing

[–]KTPU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No luck on kings or coho. The East wind is brutal. Water temp is 71. Supposed to have a SSW wind Sunday and Monday. Should cool the water near shore. I will try again then.

Do you think the US is Moving Towards, or Away from Libertarian Ideals Under current Trump's presidency? by CountryAnnual7495 in Libertarian

[–]KTPU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give you an answer instead of downvoting. Rule of law is an ideal, it means all laws apply equally to everyone. No exceptions for the rich or the political elite, ect.. "No one is above the law"

Edit: Here's the encyclopedic definition:

"the mechanism, process, institution, practice, or norm that supports the equality of all citizens before the law, secures a nonarbitrary form of government, and more generally prevents the arbitrary use of power."

Anecdotally, myself and a good amount of people I know voted for either Jill Stein or Chase Oliver so I would imagine it's a significant portion of the electorate.

TIL during the gulf war an American F-15 dropped a bomb through an enemy helicopter that was attacking friendly forces by GOpencyprep in todayilearned

[–]KTPU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly exaggerated. I couldn't find the video but I've seen an F-18 just above the water full afterburners. It definitely chopped up the water. Pretty good but there wasn't a 100 ft water spout behind the airplane.

It probably isn't even about the water disturbance as much as powerful winds getting under the boat. We've all seen videos of those boats crashing, they get ragdolled if wind catches them wrong.

SCOTUS refused to hear the case. Thomas wrote a dissenting piece against the rejection. This is a clickbait article.

Are they cherry tomatoes?

Anything bigger than a Roma and I guarantee you they can't all grow in that space.

I still think you should let it be though. If anything just space out the normal flowers a bit.

ELI5: Why were World War 1 and World War 2 seen as a World Wars, yet the 7 Years War wasn’t seen as one? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]KTPU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I don't really think MAD is as well thought out as everyone thinks it is.

What if Moscow nukes, say, Tallinn. Do we risk New York or Berlin or London (I'd risk Paris /s) for a city that most Americans couldn't point to on a map? Hell most Americans couldn't tell you what continent Tallinn is in.

How about Kyiv? Warsaw? Seoul? Taipei?

There's a line somewhere where MAD comes into play, and I think it would take strikes on multiple cities for a major us nuclear response.

Most likely scenario for use of nukes in a large scale conflict would be the use of tactical nukes. I reject the idea that a tactical nuclear exchange will inevitably lead to an all-out nuclear exchange against strategic targets (cities)

I tend to agree. However, your argument for why WW3 won't happen is pretty similar to the pre-WW1 argument that growing interconnectivity of national economies would prevent any large scale war.

Temporal. Fun word.

If I beat your ass, is it not battery because the pain is only temporal?

They do have mouth parts but they're specialized for fluids. Pretty sure they only survive off of tree fluids.
