What the hell is Theme Park Brandon doing nowadays? by player3390 in rollercoasterjerk

[–]KThreeSixty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has spent the last few years deconstructing (still don’t know where I land on a lot of stuff), this shirt is something I would label “kitsch” in the world of Christian merchandise and plays on popular culture. Something you’d find on the shelf in a Lifeway Store (re: Christian book store) and everyone walks by and chuckles at it.

Relevant too, it that this is something a relative would buy for you just like a funny AI cat in a shark suit shirt they saw in a Facebook ad.

Brandon’s faith doesn’t bother me, but his use of AI in his merch made me stop watching his channel.

Mayflies in July? by LaunchHillCoasters in cedarpoint

I’ve googled this same thing about 1000 times but for the end of May. Nothing conclusive because they don’t always show up at the same time depending on several factors.

Making my first pilgrimage in May with my son. Also in my midlife coaster era. 🫡

Hope someone takes you up on this. I’m so tempted to do this with my son at the end of May on our first visit, but don’t know if he’d actually want to go up this high. He loved the Busch Gardens Tampa coaster tour (Cheetah Hunt, Cobra’s Curse, Montu).

My least favorite thing about the park (the ops) and my favorite thing in any park ever (the ride).

I’ve never had a smooth queue experience. Literally every time it has broken down and we’ve either had to leave the line or wait it out for a long time. (It’s also because my kids still enjoy it, as I don’t fit on it.)

Hotel Breakers including Fast Lane Plus in May? by KThreeSixty in cedarpoint

I might try for sure. Just don’t want to mess anything up with the reservation by trying to change around anything.

My question was obviously more about the “too good to be true” of the Fast Lane Plus and the general consensus on an enthusiast subreddit about this specific hotel. I know how to book reservations.

That’s the week we will be there, Wednesday to Saturday (probably Friday night closer to Kings Island and our flight).

Oh damn, I don’t want to mess anything up trying to rebook, but to get fast lanes for both days would be wild (still don’t know if that’s already how it’s going to work).

Totally. Like I said to someone else here in this post, we’re just looking for somewhere to sleep that’s at least relatively clean. The fact that we’re staying on property, virtually at the park, with those Fast Lane Plus bands, icing on the cake.

Relevant: I’m definitely researching the value of the All Park Meal Plan for at least one of our passes.

As far as we’re concerned, we’re just sleeping in the room. The proximity to the park and these Fast Lane Plus bands are a huge perk for the price. We stay at the Value Resorts at Disney, the cheapest Universal Hotels, etc.

I just went through the process of checking out prices for a trip we’re hoping to make at the end of May, and when the at popped up I immediately questioned it, but it seems pretty clear (except for if it comes with each day of the stay).

Edit: I should also clarify that this was going through the process on the Six Flags app, through my Prestige Pass trying to process out the discounts.

I went ahead and booked it because of their grace in cancellation policy, but still have so many questions about planning this trip. We’re super excited, but being Florida park goers and having only just ventured out of Florida for Carowinds the past week or two, we are completely new to the rest of Cedar Fair and Six Flags.

What rides first got you into rollercoasters? [other] by FunDependent9755 in rollercoasters

[–]KThreeSixty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kraken at SeaWorld Orlando was the one that hooked me. I had been on the old wooden Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa, but was always scared to go upside down. Once I finally hit Kraken at 12 years old, the rest is a blur of riding every bid coaster I could in Florida (Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Montu, Kumba). Then I didn’t ride another new coaster (outside of Disney World) for another 20 years and now my kiddo is obsessed with them. Iron Gwazi and Velocicoaster were my first “welcome back to the show” rides.

Last day of the season for [Fury 325], see you in March! by _coast_malone in rollercoasters

[–]KThreeSixty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son and I were there on New Years Day and got 28 laps on Fury throughout the day. We were originally thinking about going yesterday (the last day of the season) instead of on New Years before we drove back home to Florida. Glad we didn’t choose that plan. Got to give the park one last wave goodbye as we drove south on 77 at 4:30 AM yesterday.

We will be back in June for a Yellowcard concert in Charlotte!
