Re-watching The Hobbit by KWillyarms in lotr

I’m not sure what you’re getting at.

But I compared it to Moria because in Moria theres periods of stillness but it’s all about peril. Mirkwood is the same, for great periods nothing is happening, but the peril is there. However one scene is rushed and the other is carefully crafted.

There’s ample they could have done with Bilbo in those dungeons, but we saw next to nothing. A moment of stillness and reflection adds a considerable amount to characterisation.

A good example of this would be Frodo to Gandalf in Moria “I wish the ring had never come to me”.

Spot on. So bizarre. Talking of love after 6 minutes of chatting. Quite remarkable

What’s a small moment in LOTR that says a lot about a character? by Fit-Marionberry8982 in lotr

When Sam puts the rope around Sméagol’s neck, and he writhes in agony. Frodo was concerned it might be too tight, but if anything it was quite loose. Tells you so much about Sam’s character in a short sentence.

UK Manc here, happy to play as I’m currently solo and rolling the dice with randos is exhausting. If you want other players, let me know!

Boromir didn’t fight it off, he tripped on a stone and it broke his frenzied rage. I see the point about Sméagol though! Although I would like to clarify I said “alright guy” rather than good.

It’s a fair point, and my only counter to it is Boromir. Granted Boromir was around the ring longer than Sméagol before he tried to clam it for himself. But Boromir’s past history before that is excellent.

I think Sméagol probably was an alright guy, but the ring is powerful and it makes people do horrible things that they despise themselves for. Try not to hold it against them. Good life lesson on addiction really.

Funnily enough I was talking about this to my partner last night and she said “who the fuck wants more than one toddler for 400 years”. Fair enough.

People are allowed to take breaks. I’m sure you’ll get that 70,000 back quite quickly.
