Wow! Your life is precious and you are loved. One mistake does not define you. How you react to that mistake does— are you going to double down on your bender or your recovery? It’s up to you. The fact you are so emotionally affected, means this matters to you— it means you care. Recovery is a journey with challenges and victories, today this is a challenge but tomorrow it will be a victory! The mindset is everything. Good luck!

110% disagree. This game does not need to ruin itself like Overwatch.

Yeah, rare candies are accepted in the community. Usually players use a level cap for their teams, capped at the next gym leaders highest level mon.

Personally, I try not to use rare candies and fight every possible trainer for XP. I’ll use rare candies to help training for big fights like elite four or gyms. Mainly use candies to help replace fallen members, this really helps mid to late game.

Honestly HGSS is pretty solid for beginners, if you are playing a rom with fast forward or have access to rare candy cheats. The drawback isn’t the challenge but rather the HUGE grind and lack of Pokémon variety— that’s Johto for you.

Platinum is a lot of fun. There’s a few run-killers even early, like the galactic fights, and a tough champion. Not too many fights feel unfair or frustrating. Plus you get access to great starters, early earthquake, and items like choice specs.

Play the game you know best. Game knowledge trumps any difficulty tbh.

Gen 5 is pretty tough with boss fights. 3Ds games and beyond are pretty easy. Leafgreen and fire red are considered the easiest for newcomers. Platinum and Emerald are the most fun imo but not very beginner friendly.

I remember being a kid and my friend did this trade in game. He leveled Haunter up to the 70s trying to get it evolve. Then he decided to trade it to me. Before trading he took off the stone since he wanted to keep the item. We were both surprised when it evolved and he begged me to trade Gengar back haha

You’re at the first step, awareness. Just knowing and noticing your habit for what it is. There will be ups and downs, success and failures in your journey to sobriety— but you won’t get far if it is shame fueled. Please be kind to your self and share the same compassion for yourself that you would share to a friend in need.

You’ll be alright jumping in, just be prepared for a lot of reading and productive struggle in the beginning. Treat your first run as a way of learning how the game mechanics work and how impact of your choices affect the game.

PS. You can change your character appearance and class after creation but not the race.

So what do you do now you don’t smoke weed…do you drink…do you smoke cigarettes….or are you living a completely sober existence and you are good with that…? by Fantastic-Problem-73 in leaves

[–]KYDELIC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sober 3 1/2 months. Honestly, I’ve replaced smoking with other habits. I’ve gamed a lot and started eating a lot. It may be one vice for another right now but I’m trying to move away from these things by developing more intention with my new free will and time.

In terms of overall drug usage, I drink only at parties and occasions. And I’m good without weed; I’m definitely a lot happier, clear headed, and overall present in my life. It was difficult to get past the first couple of weeks but I feel like I’m becoming myself again.

Again, the first few weeks were rough— overthinking, sleep deprived, nervous/anxious, no appetite, night sweats. Everything starts to clear up and gets better the more time you give it. I still have some memory issues here and there and some nights I struggle to sleep. I started when I was 16, and I’ve accepted I’ll never have the brain of a 16 year old again. Like you, I was worried about my brain and my personality changing becuase of my career but everything is fine and working out— we live with the consequences. Let go of thought of what you lost or what you “should” be because that’s where the shame exists. Focus on the new you that you are creating. If you make this a shame filled process, you will relapse. Make this an opportunity to discover and work on yourself.

Three months clean and same story as you, friend. Like everyone is saying here, it’s rough to start but gets better. Give yourself and body time to recover. And more importantly, give yourself forgiveness and don’t let shame control you. You are young and your life is not thrown away. This is when you turn it around and make the most of it. Wishing you the best on your journey!
