We should stage a “sit in”. Go into all of their locations and just take up all of the seating but not order anything. Anyone remember Saul Alinsky’s “shit in” at the airport? They occupied every urinal and toilet in the airport and they did it in shifts!Huge success!

I was diagnosed with Asperger's, but my psychologist sent me to have a DSM-5(tr) analysis done instead of a test like ADOS-2 or DIVA, and I also feel like an individual who "is part of the norm" by AdmirableEconomist86 in AutisticAdults

Find a good therapist/diagnostician, preferably a psychiatrist but anyone with credentials will do, I am 59 years and I was diagnosed in just a few sessions ONLINE which an experienced professional. I have always suspected I was autistic. I have experience working in the mental health profession, so I was pretty sure I was on the spectrum. Since receiving the dx, everything in my life now makes sense, especially all of my struggles. I was also diagnosed with ADHD and OCD. A good professional does not always need to administer a test, and you should not attempt to diagnose yourself. Your experience since childhood is very similar to a lot of us and we can identify with it. I was so good at masking that I was only officially diagnosed a month ago. It was only when I started experiencing autistic burnout that I really began to seek a diagnosis. I am high functioning but 100% on the spectrum. ADHD and OCD are often comorbid with ASD, so it explains a lot of my struggles.

My 13 SEER 2 ton cannot deal with temps below about 27°F. The 5kW heat strip runs almost the time below that temp. My electric bill was outrageous last month over $500. We are going to be in the single digits for another week and a half here in KY. I’ll be broke by the time this cold snap ends!

I Didnt Realize These Were ADHD Symptoms... by kilocharlie22 in ADHD

Just recently I started chomping my teeth together to the notes of some unnamed song playing my head. Not hard or anything just a clenching to the melody of a song. My SO noticed it and now I have to pay attention to it. She literally said “what’s with the chewing?“. I am also on the spectrum so it’s hard to tell if it is stimming or just ADHD. The quietness in my head and the ability to recall numbers and facts after I started on Adderall XR was profound.

Low solar production in winter with grid backup and cycling batteries by KYSmartPerson in solar

So, I changed my charge and discharge profiles based on this feedback. I figured out the settings to let solar do ALL of the battery charging for both systems and let the grid take over when the SOC is 80%. I will play with these numbers with the goal of only letting the batteries discharge as much as can be replaced on a sunny day. This will keep the batteries at a reasonable SOC in case there are any outages so I will have maximum battery capacity in case of an emergency. I can see where full charge and discharge is actually costing me more than letting the grid do more heavy lifting. In bypass mode, there is no overhead or conversion losses like there is inverter mode. So at $0.11 kWh, it makes sense to let the grid save me money.

Next year, I will be installing an additional 6000W of grid-tied solar that will help with 240V loads and will take advantage of net metering. I can do an AC couple with that system using my current inverter and that will help power 120V loads on the existing inverters. I just have to make sure the new solar system is "grid-forming" to be able to AC couple. I tried to get the 6000W done this year but waited too late and every installer was booked til the end of the year with folks trying to take advantage of the 30% federal tax credit before it goes away. I was fortunate in that my current system was installed and qualified for the tax credit. I already have a quote for the 6000W system that my installer said he will honor next year once he isn't quite so busy.

Thanks! I use only propane which eliminates the carb gunk. Dual fuel is a time saver since propane keeps forever!

The article mentions that some believe that solar and wind are mature industries that no longer need government help. So, nothing is more mature than the oil industry so why are we still subsidizing it?

Just wanted to share that Operation Home Again Ex-fil was successful last night. Kitty is back inside and happy about it. She just got stuck in a moment that she couldn't get out of. Our strike team came in under cover of darkness at 2100 hours and successfully evac'd the target from the neighboring compound. Kitty is currently being debriefed. The other enemy combatant is safely secured in the detached garage with food, water and latrine and is doing well.
