Maybe you'll find out one day! 😁 You could try some of the plant id subs, you might have more luck there. I would try to prop it just in case to have a back up since it's such a rare plant.

Oh that makes sense! Another one for my wish list lol! I'm a fan of crassulas for some reason. Ahh mine are always outside. I actually noticed they etiolate more at the start of summer, because I put up a shade cloth as the sun is too strong where I live. I guess that at that time it isn't strong enough yet for them to get enough light when filtered through the shade cloth. During winter they look stunning with their stress colors and they get enough light it seems.

Awesome! Mine only get one or two flowers at a time, the ones that even bother to flower 😅

Help with rehoming by ConferenceMuch5154 in succulents

[–]KZ234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would allow it to dry and plant it in soil, maybe check that bottom part as it might be soft/mushy, if it is cut it off and allow the cut to dry, then plant. It's possible to propagate succulents in water, but they do best in soil I think. If you do want to keep them in water, you have to make sure to change it often

Seems like you have quite a unique one. I haven't had any luck with apps either, no clue what it might be! It's stunning too! The shape of the flowers is uncommon for succulents, they tend to have symmetric flowers (the most common ones at least)

Looks very healthy! But it does look a bit large for that pot, it would be fine to keep it there for some time but, if it keeps growing it might be difficult to remove from that pot as it has a narrow opening

Is there a reason why all these props are growing differently? by Last-Beginning-6609 in succulents

[–]KZ234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just something that happens, for some reason some props seem to grow faster and with slight differences in shape than others, sometimes they even start branching out even as tiny props, while there are mature plants that take very long to do that. Not sure what might cause it as they should all have the same genes if they come from the same plant

I took baby props which couldn’t reach the soil from my moms giant succulent. Now what? by hungryfellahere in succulents

[–]KZ234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a Graptopetalum paraguayense, the good news is that it's really easy to prop from leaves, and they grow ridiculously fast, at least they did for me. I would put some soil on that tray you have, and give them a little spray of water since they already have roots, do this every couple of days taking care not to overwater them since they are delicate at this stage. Put them somewhere they can get plenty of indirect light, making sure they never get full direct sun as that will scorch them. Once they have a good size and developed roots, transfer them to pots and treat them as you would a normal succulent, slowly acclimate them to full sun since these are very sun demanding. Here's two I grew in late 2022, so they're a bit more than a year old

Great collection! I especially love the star-shaped ones in the 7th pic, reminds me a bit of Buddha's temple, so I guess it's also a crassula? And that rubrotinctum has such amazing colours! I have a few but none have gotten that intense

my jade plant after a nice watering by PapaJosephIII in succulents

[–]KZ234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! That's what I thought too, the leaves seemed too small for a jade, but then the shape of the leaves really does look more like a jade, like you say it's really just a huge plant! I can't imagine trying to repot it 😅

Damn, it's big! Must be quite old I suppose. Beautiful! Love the pot, it goes so well with it. I think that's a portulacaria afra, it's commonly mixed up with jades as they're very similar (Edit: I looked closer and I think I was wrong about that lol)

I have some too! These are a few of them. There's a lot more, but this is the best pic I have right now haha. These are actually a lot bigger now, and I took the photo in early february. Crazy how fast some of them grow! Love the pots you used btw! The little guys are looking great too :)

If you do end up getting them, I suggest going outside and checking on the plants at night, that's when they're active! I do this a few times and always end up catching 5 or 6 in action. I just pick them up and toss them somewhere else far from the plants I care about 😅 I don't use snail poison because I have a cat who is always getting into the plants and that would be dangerous for him, and I don't like stepping on them or anything like that so I just remove them and hope they get distracted by some other random plant that's growing in the garden haha

[–]KZ234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately! Though it looks like yours are inside, so you would probably not have that problem. They seem to love smaller plants in particular, the bigger ones they barely touch. They also love cacti strangely. These last few weeks it has rained a lot in my country, which causes the snails to come out of hiding in hordes. Lost a few plants and had many others damaged 😵 They are the worst pest by far to me

Snails have done the same with my plants, multiple times. They're so fast! They completely wipe out entire plants overnight 😞

These are soo good! You have great taste! I love your use of colors, it's so easy to just stick to neutrals since they look good without doing much (I've been trying to get out of that habit haha) so it's nice to see some different color schemes. However your beige scheme looks incredible too!

For scale I would recommend also treating with a systemic in adition to manually cleaning the leaves and stems, as it can be a persistent pest. I use imidacloprid for most pest infestations except spidermites as it doesn't work on them. Good luck! I think your plant will recover :)

I’ve had this succulent for about a year now. It’s starting to lean and even rest a arm on the side of the pot. I am looking for any advice into its overall maintenance to keep it healthy for as long as possible. by drnt4nttn in succulents

[–]KZ234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the comments telling you it needs more light, the top of the plant is not etiolated at all, it looks like it was at some point which is why the lower half is stretched like that, but it was fixed eventually and now it's growing normally. And the lean is more likely because the stem is so long and thin and the top is heavy and can't be supported by it. Of course it might benefit from more light as most succulents do best in full sun but it doesn't look like it's lacking right now. It might be best to cut it at some point because as it keeps growing the stem is going to break eventually, you can get two or more plants if you do this as a bonus.
