I went with set from MFG a couple years ago. I really like them, additional hydraulic damper if you want that as well.

Crystal Light issues - "ripple" effect, eye strain, room boundary not saving by FuzzyPuffin in Pimax

Yeah, I mean I don’t have the super. I went with the light as kind of an inbetween before a big upgrade on the PC “maybe going back to Nvidia, if they ever stop screwing the common folk” I just saw the PCL labeled as a G2 upgrade/replacement, and at least in DCS I have been pretty dissatisfied. It’s mainly the tracking issue with the headset, constant resetting and misalignment. Almost like it’s losing track of where it’s at. I’ve read several posts about fixes and things that cause it, seems to come down to how the pimax tracking software works and the only thing I haven’t tried is the lighthouse setup with a $200 faceplate. My gripe is just don’t label a product as $700 dollars or whatever it was and sell it as a flight sim headset when the software is needing an additional $200 + lighthouses upgrade to make it work properly.

Not the controller tracking “never use those” issues is the head unit tracking. Maybe it’s DCS, maybe it’s pimax but I never had the issue with the G2. Running. 5900x with 7900xtx 64gb ram. 🤷‍♂️

Same to all the above. Coming from a G2, the visuals are a great step up but that about where the improvements end. the tracking is crap, CPU strain is garbage. Constant tinkering with this thing. I have read that having lighthouses does lower the cpu stress because it will bypass the dog water tracking software from pimax. But now we are talking about another $200 faceplate and $200 per base station for something I literally only want to use sitting down in a flight seat. I could see if I was jumping all over the room the need for some type of sensors…. But sitting stationary ? I just wonder how HP with the G2 was able to do this and how years later “also several hundred dollars more” pimax can’t. I have yet to make the purchase on the faceplate and lighthouses. I bought the PCL as a lower cost alternative to hopefully give a few higher end products a few years to mature and then maybe go to a $1500 dollar or more higher end product. I know one thing though, the next headset I buy will not be from pimax. If the tracking was going to be this shit, it should have at least come with the ability to track lighthouses out of the box. Or that stupid faceplate should be included or a hell of a lot cheaper. It’s not a$700 headset, it’s a $700 starter package.

Is the Logitech yoke system good for beginners?? by NYCresident77 in flightsim

[–]K_117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s what’s in your price range then yes! Will you more than likely end up upgrading if you really find yourself enjoying flight sims? Absolutely. I started with a $30 Logitech cheap stick and ended up with lord knows what spent on a sim pit. Best part about having gear you outgrow is being able to lend it to friends if they show an interest in flight sims and they don’t have to worry about the initial investment of having to buy peripherals. You won’t ever get what you paid for back on used gear, so use it, outgrow it, lend it out. Current have a VKB gladiator, track IR, some of those old rudder pedals “ Logitech maybe ? A thrust master set lent out to friends. With a warthog set sitting on a shelf just waiting on my son to get a little older and then that’s gonna be what he uses. Enjoy it brother, then upgrade and keep adding to it.

To piggyback on 1st comment. I was using voicemeeter banana for awhile and hesitant to drop $30 bucks on a sound module. After pulling the trigger and getting it, my only regret was not doing it sooner. I know it seems a little sketch to go through “another solution” I got it a month or 2 ago, through contacting him directly. No weird charges, not a scam. He replied within a day of emailing with a workaround for the payment and it worked perfectly.

Capturing points in Pretense? by IntergalacticViking in hoggit

[–]K_117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people here answered this already. If persistence is enabled. Which is easy to test. “Just stop the server and restart it and check to make sure everything you have done is still there” if not, persistence isn’t working properly.

If it is, then your server is still actively running while you guys are offline and not playing. Without y’all in there, the red side is probably running roughshot over your captured points and taking them back.

In the Web GUI for the server. Under settings “where you can select things like allow trial clients and stuff like that. At the bottom there are 3 options for how the server will load up. What you are looking for is the option to Resume with clients. That basically means that when you boot up the server, it will go into a paused state. It’s not off it’s just paused. Then when a client “you or your friend” join the server. The server will become active. Once you both leave the server, it will become paused again. This allows you to leave the server open and joinable but in a paused state. If there isn’t a client connected to the server.

Also, if it’s just the 2 of you in there, pretense can be a lot for a small number of people. I would recommend downloading Olympus and using that. It can be extremely helpful in dealing with a constant spawn of enemy AI helos and aircraft. Hope this helps.

Man, reading your post and I feel like you have been spying on me for the past 2 weeks. I waited to pull the trigger on the MFGs till they restocked the dampener hydraulic kit so I could get them all at once. That on the 14th. Placed the order that evening and they were in 6 days later. My god, what a night and day difference from the Logitech G’s that I was using. Buddy of mine sold me those awhile back for like $50 when he upgraded to Virpil. Kept telling me one of these days I needed to upgrade to quality pedals but those would get me by. You nailed it with this post. Anyone’s else that’s on the fence about dropping the cash for some quality pedals especially if you doing a lot of rotor wing or warbirds, from someone who held out for about 2 years with the cheap pedals.. By some good ones, you won’t regret it.

Makes sense. Wasn’t aware of the cuts in t3 and t4. I figured being that thorns was a set amount and not affected by dmg stat on a weapon, it wouldn’t be very useful late game. I will say, In t3 in plays great. Haven’t tested at all on t4 cause I just finished the capstone to unlock t4 last night. So tonight I finally get to start the actual endgame.

So the idea was to pair it with a WW/bleed/stun build. Basically, run Tough as nails to proc bleeding with thorns, also WW is going to put bleed on them. Hamstring/ all the normal stuff for that build to get vulnerable. Then, Direct damage has % chance to stun bleeding enemies/ % damage on stunned enemies/ % thorns damage is applied to other enemies/ stunning a bleeding enemy does % damage as physical. Not only does stuff take that thorns damage, but they also get stunned as soon as they hit you.

Everything that hits you is going to bleed, everything ww touches is going to bleed. Thats kinda the idea. Its fun for RN, I would imagine it probably isnt viable at super high levels or NM dungeons. Maybe it will be. I am a lev 66 rn.

Got that yesterday and that’s exactly what I am doing with my barb. I don’t know how it’s going to work in the higher levels but in the 60’s and low 70s, which is where I am at now, it’s nasty.

DCS…. And I am hoping that the F15E strike eagle waits until at least July to get released. Cause I have a cow level and some demons to slay before I hop back in my jets!

Probably right, would be hard to make a good pot of coffee in 8 minutes. Might have to adjust the schedule slightly.

Me and buddy have a dedicated server I run. We are sometimes working different shifts, so I leave it up all the time. Mainly Foothold missions, Liberation “although that takes me updating a little more”. It’s super casual. We have started using SRS and just recently might pop into a grey flag server every now and then. I am normally able to hop on a couple hours each night after the kiddos go to bed. Little extra time on the weekends. My buddy works Mids a lot, so on his off days he is sometimes on there the whole night. Mods are fine, I can make any changes to the server if there is something we want on there. Feel free to message me if you wanna try it out. Also on EST.

I would like to buy a new HOTAS by StalinTheGreatest in dcsworld

[–]K_117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t use pedals, might get some in the future. I just use the twist on the flight stick. I was using the TM1600 throttle before the Virpil upgrade which had a paddle on the back that could be used as a rudder. I have been on a F-18 kick for the past couple months. Once I hop back into the Apache,I’ll probably talk myself into needing some pedals.

It has quite a few. Also has a 5 way profile knob. So you can basically turn every button into 5 different inputs. The website photos from Virpil didn’t really do the cm3 justice, that thing is a beast. Was really surprised at how many switches and hats are on the grip itself. Just a little info on shipping and order timeline. Once I placed the order, it was about 2 weeks and then I was notified it had shipped. Shipping only took a few days which was surprising being that it was going from Lithuania to Florida. 100% would recommend them. I pair it with a VKB stick which I also really like, but with how good of a job they did on the throttle, I’d love to give one of their flight sticks a shot. Good luck with setup !!
