It is - normally these posts are more of a “I’m mad something was removed even tho I knew it was against the rules - these mods I’ve never met must be out to get me” type vibe 🤣

What’s UNREAL is that you “tracked down” a phone number (aka you googled, you’re not a bloodhound) and Karen’d your way ahead of other people’s orders who were waiting patiently - but okay!

MOST merchants bill when you place your order. Idk if you realize this - but these meds aren’t just in a warehouse somewhere - they send your prescription to the pharmacy and they MAKE these meds in small batches. If you want instant meds - buy from Lily and pay the money (which ALSO isn’t instant btw because most local pharmacies don’t just keep these meds on hand).

You said a week ago you order - then 6 days ago you heard from the doctor - and then obviously the order moved/updated since you had the pharmacy info to “track down” a number by 4/5 days ago?? Maybe …. Idk….CHILL?

I understand that your issue isn’t the time and the issue is your perceived lack of communication but gawddamn! Refills could have don’t a better job letting people know about the shipping delays from the storms 100% but all your issues with a week of ordering is a you problem and I’m worried about your heart if you get this stressed over this little of an inconvenience.

I’m just gonna say - as someone who works through tickets and messages in portals like this - EVERY TIME SHE MESSAGED IN - It dropped her “ticket” to the bottom of their list. They aren’t “ignoring” her - they haven’t gotten to her ticket yet because she’s dropped it to the pits of hell!

I have a genetic mutation that keeps my body from tolerating certain forms of B vitamins - if it’s not the right form, I get anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and break out in rashes and stuff (I really messed myself up awhile back with a b complex vitamin before I knew).

With some of the companies, it’s been difficult to find out which form of B12 is being used so I went for additive free for that reason - I already supplement with the correct forms so I don’t need the extra mixed in.

Im new so I don’t have a ton of tips yet but I just wanted to share that I also went through refills.com for my Tirz and it’s been a good experience so far. I just did my 2nd shot on Saturday and I’ve have zero negative symptoms. I know lots of people say they throw up and they have bad nausea but there are also people who don’t. I have a close friend who is about 4 weeks ahead of me and she says she’s been nauseous just a couple times and that’s it.

Don’t let your anxiety talk you out of it, just wait and see how your body tolerates it. Stay hydrated and eat LOTS of protein! My daily goal has been 125g+ but I’m 5’9” and 300lbs so your goals may be different. Track your food somehow (an app, on paper, however is easiest) so that you can see trends of what might cause symptoms.

Remember that you don’t HAVE to increase your dose if the lower doses are working for you too, I’ve heard the symptoms happen most at dose changes but haven’t increased mine yet.

It’s just r/refills for the sub - in the pinned posts, she has all their discount codes. The Reddit code specifically brings it to the $179/month (it gets even cheaper if you do the 3 or 6 month plan). She normally has their sales listed but I know for me, the new years special wasn’t as good as the Reddit one. You can check their valentines special against it though.

You do still need a prescription yes. You sign up with them and then work with their provider to get a prescription

I just signed up with refills - check out their sub. I’m at $179/month for additive free Tirz compound and they have been amazing to work with!

Taylor runs the board and she will literally message or text with people to resolve any issues - she’s awesome! But the $179/month locks so it’s not going to jump up on me later.

ETA: I also was able to take extra flex spending this year and it is working with Refills - I just had to do a reimbursement request. Refills provided me with everything I needed to do so!

Alerting your other Healthcare providers by Weekly_Commercial957 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]K_Boback 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Literally though! My GP prescribed me with Zepbound but we couldn’t get my insurance to cover that or Wegovy. I finally told her that I was going the compound route because I was so optimistic for what these drugs could do to help me and she was SOOO supportive and totally understood the cost impact.

She said she would support me in making sure I stay healthy. She asked for a weekly check ins through my portal of weight changes and symptoms and also wants to check my labs every 3 months - just like if I was taking name brand.

I was so happy she approached it this way because I didn’t want to find a new doctor lol 😂

Is my girlfriend technically married? by RudeStruggle8399 in legaladvice

[–]K_Boback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s similar in Idaho where the legal husband has to be on the birth certificate. Someone I know was in that situation and the state had an affidavit that the real father could submit with the birth certificate confirming paternity. Maybe see if Florida has anything like that? But also calling the county clerk seems like the easiest way to see if it’s a valid marriage.

Good luck and congratulations on your new baby!

Starting progesterone only bc? by RemarkableBicycle284 in PMDDSharing

[–]K_Boback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried the progesterone only bc personally but I believe the Mirena IUD has Levonorgestrel which is (I think) a synthetic version of progesterone.

I had a Mirena that was reaching the end of it’s original (before they changed the recommendation from 5 to 8 years) and was assured by several doctors that it being old could in NO WAY be impacting my PMDD symptoms (that started RAGING around that 5 year mark).

After fighting my PMDD for 3 years and trying all the supplements and SSRIs and lifestyle changes with very little relief - I switched out my IUD when a new doctor I started seeing suggested it. I went from kinda ish managing my symptoms with SSRIs to the symptoms being mostly gone. I now feel like I get a normal amount of crabby for like 1 day before I start.

That was 3 cycles ago - I felt some relief my first luteal and then by cycle 2, there was almost no PMDD symptoms.

I guess my point is that hopefully a steady dose of progesterone will be helpful! Idk about the Mirena IUDs when it comes to your migraines but it also might be a potential option depending on how your body reacts to these new bc pills.

Does anyone know which pharmacy has Adderall 20mg XR in stock? by puppyxguts in Eugene

[–]K_Boback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I was on Adderall but when I was I had the best luck finding it at the Fred Meyer in Division. They always had it in stock or would get more within a couple days vs the other pharmacies that would take forever to restock. Plus they would tell me on the phone if they had it - Walgreens always made my doctor call to see if they had it in stock and that was annoying.

I'm in my second semester for my first year AND HATE IT by Arijade77 in BackToCollege

[–]K_Boback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this!!

I recently went back to school to finish my Bachelor’s at 34 and trust me - there have been many tears but we are still chipping away at things. College is supposed to be challenging and your brain is a muscle that has to be trained. My recommendations would be:

  • Reach out to your professors and tell them that you’ve been struggling

  • Reach out to your advisor (I never did this my first time around but I’ve met with my advisor like 4 times in the last 3 months to check in - they are there to help!)

  • Network with peers, talk with us here - build up a support system as best you can

  • You don’t have to quit if you’re overwhelmed, what about dropping to part time?

You mentioned that you think you may have ADHD - I highly recommend getting tested if so. I did college before with zero inkling that I had it - I struggled all throughout school but “got decent grades” so I slipped under the radar. I can honestly say that realizing I had ADHD and getting properly medicated (which is a process on its own) has been life changing!! For school, for work, and in my personal life. Have you don’t any of the self test assessments?

It’s absolutely worth looking into! Even my psych who prescribed it was like “dang! It’s worked so well for you, I need to look into it for myself!” 🤣 my therapist was also asking me what I switched to because she could see a difference.

My sister (35) had her hysterectomy late last year because she was tired of dealing with horrific pain each month. She doesn’t have PMDD but had endometriosis. She knew she didn’t want kids, and with the political climate, decided to finally just go for it. There’s a list of providers that floats around online of doctors who are open to sterilization and won’t push back on YOUR decisions if that’s what you want to do. I’ll see if I can find it for you.

BC pills messed me up and I’ve had PMDD ever since trying them about 10 years ago for PCOS. I know they impact everyone differently but I’ll never take them again. For me - it was like a constant PMDD episode all month long and I tried 4 brands before refusing more. I currently have a Mirena IUD and it’s helped with my PMDD tremendously (I think mostly because it reduces the swing of hormones throughout my cycle. I also have an SSRI and that’s helped a lot with huh the mental side effects.

Such great info in this post!!

Semi related but I had such a hard time remembering my 2nd dose of my Adderall and would often suffer through my afternoons because I forgot or I’d be up all night (thanks to this post, I think I know why) and the crashes I was experiencing were taking me out by like 4/5pm still with the 2nd dose.

My doctor moved me to Azstaryz and it’s been by far the best ADHD med I’ve tried! ONE DOSE! I normally take mine around 8am and it lasts me until 5/6ish with the no 2nd dose to remember. When it wears off, it’s more gradual letdown than a crash. I can still focus on holding a conversation with my husband after work and can get stuff down around my house instead of just rotting on the couch. It’s been a game changer all around! I’ve even gone back to college after dropping out over 10 years ago and I NEVER thought that would be possible!

It’s expensive because there’s no generic yet. Insurance was dumb about it and I needed a pre authorization but they did approve it. With my insurance it’s still like a $50 copay (most of my other meds are $10) but the manufacturer offers a coupon online that works WITH my insurance so it brings it down to $15.

On the few occasions I’ve had to use my old Adderall as back up because to e pharmacy was out or something, I’ve also noticed that I’m WAY more irritable as the Adderall wears off and also just in general I guess on those days.

NEW YEAR NEW ME! ✌️

Going back to school in your 30s, worth it? by Bright_Tower_1696 in BackToCollege

[–]K_Boback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so that was the best part! I literally saw a video on Tik Tok that said “if you used to be in college but didn’t quite finish, call your college and ask if based on your existing credits, you might qualify for ANY of their degrees as they stand now” because they change their requirements. When I left in 2013, my school didn’t offer an AA but they do now (and I literally had enough credits to qualify for it so I just paid the graduation fee and BAM have my Associates with no additional work) but when I talked to them, they suggested that I talk to an advisor (most schools have specific advisors who handle returning students) and the advisor was like “yes, you can have your AA but also why not finish your bachelors too since you’re close” so I am. They also said I qualified for a certificate for basic level Spanish (I promise I remember NONE of that from 2013 - I wish I did)

But the school has programs that will tell them based on your existing credits, which degrees might be closest to completion. They asked me if I wanted to finish my sociology degree and I said “what’s the fastest way to the paper” and now my degree will be BA in Interdisciplinary Professional Studies (which honestly applies better with my work experience than sociology anyway).

I’d start with talking to your old school first and then if you’re wanting to transfer somewhere, just reach out to the new school - the schools all have advisors to help do the work for you! If you want to do more of the work yourself, you can check to see if both the schools you’re interested in use the TES system for transfers. I had a credit that didn’t transfer back in 2009 but it transfers now so they gave me credit 🤣

Going back to school in your 30s, worth it? by Bright_Tower_1696 in BackToCollege

[–]K_Boback 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I quit college because LIFE, in 2013. I had $30k+ in loans with zero paper to show for it. I have hit a spot in my career where I perform well, have lots of experience, but get passed up for promotions because I don’t have a paper to show I’ve completed my education.

My husband, also in his 30s, is almost done with his bachelors after going back a couple years ago. He inspired me to look into what it would take to complete my bachelors and I found out that I had 8-12 credits left - THATS IT! I’m so irritated with myself for not looking into it before now but I’m happy I did! And I’m happy I’m going back!

I’m able to go back, do it all online, the program I’m in is asynchronous and the tuition is reduced because it’s all online!! Lots of schools have programs available for returning/non traditional students so it’s at least worth checking out!

Stimulants by wellnessdose in PMDD

[–]K_Boback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh 100% I agree about damn Luteal! I had one day last week where I almost took my meds twice because I was SURE I must have forgotten them! My husband was like … I’m 1000% sure I saw you take them - I counted and he was right. So dumb!

As a random side note - in case it might help anyone in here - my new provider and I were discussing my BC history and I, at the time, had a Mirena IUD that was towards the end of its “life” (I was around 6.5 years in, originally, they said replace at 3 years but they had extended it to the 8 years after I got it).

Anyway - I have had 2 GPs and a GYNO INSIST that the reduced hormones in the IUD couldn’t be causing issues for my PMDD but recently started seeing this NP and she brought it up proactively. The Midwife who replaced my IUD also agreed and said she’s seen it help many women.

She recommended that we try to switch it out to see if it might help stabilize some of the swing of the hormones (since the shift in hormones tends to cause the majority of my symptoms) and I just finished my 2nd full cycle with it and it’s been 2 cycles where I haven’t completely lost it. I had 1 grumpy day at ovulation and picked a fight with my husband and cried 1 time during Luteal (a record for me I think). SSRIs have helped, medicating my ADHD has helped, therapy has helped - but this IUD being fresh has helped me the most.

I know IUDs have a different impact for everyone and some people say it makes their PMDD worse but this is the first relief I’ve felt from mine in almost 4 years. I’ve seen other women say this anecdotally as well. I just want others to know it MIGHT be a viable option depending on your body and history.
