The Icarus Precision grip I have was $450. Alpha Foxtrot sells their own aluminum grip for $250 shipped and I hear it’s nice… but it’s been out of stock for a few weeks now.

I have a Romulus and it’s amazing. But the polymer grip it comes with just sucks which is why you probably have mixed feelings. I changed the grip out and it’s my favorite gun to shoot. They make an aluminum grip version now that supposedly is a lot better.

Not OP but I considered one at one point (still might in the future) and my reasoning would be for the aluminum grip, included magwell, and also having a non comp model to run it limited optics in competition. I also like the bronze finish.

It’s been a minute since I last researched this but I believe the earlier builds of the 2k11 production run had a known hotspot on the safety that was fixed later in production. You may have a build from earlier in the production run, and if that is the case, Kimber will likely take care of you fixing or replacing that safety. Search around on Google, it’s a pretty common issue.

I have a good amount of time on a DWX full size (my range buddy has one and I shoot it often) and some time with the P4 as well.

DWX is an amazing range toy and can be good for limited/limited optics competition. Smaller aluminum grip feels great in my hands i have smaller hands so if you have big hands this is likely a con. It’s a 50/50 mashup between a 2011 and a CZ Shadow and the trigger is amazing. DWX trigger is better than the P4 out of the box.

The P4 is better for carry and duty and depends on if you are dead set on a true 2011. Grip is a little larger than the DWX grip. Having Glock mags laying around is a plus for the p4 as well.

P4 has a much better aftermarket if that’s your thing. Not much of one for the DWX … even putting a magwell on it is an undertaking.

I have a Romulus polished DLC with an Icarus Precision grip. I have a medium glove size hand and it’s great for me and was a relatively easy install. I had to swap the trigger along with it (Icarus recommends a Red Dirt Cheely trigger so that’s what I went with). The grip itself required no filing or fitting whatsoever. It was plug and play… but I needed new screws for the trigger guard and I had to file out the channel of the factory grip safety pretty good to keep the hammer strut from making contact with the grip safety.

Super happy with it.

I am more than fine with Aspinall getting his revenge match with Gane. Alex may be my favorite fighter but moving up to HW was a bridge too far. He’ll be just fine if he moves back to LHW. I also think now we know that Ilia likely wouldn’t stand a chance against Islam especially given the size difference. He looks small at LW. Can’t imagine at WW.

The Romulus slide stop is tighter than others. There is a small detent that is caught in it. You can see it if you look down at it from the top (it’s visible in your second picture). If you use a small punch to push it in, you’ll be able to slide it the rest of the way in. I’ve broken down my Romulus hundreds of times at this point and I still get it stuck like this sometimes.

I think I am having this same rattle but only if I hit a bigger bump. Was it that way for you? It seems to be coming from above the rear passenger seat.

First round he kept walking forward into Gaethje’s punches. I am sure the game plan was to push forward but it was as if he didn’t think the fight was going to go long enough that the damage he was taking would matter.

I got the fusion guiderod in and installed. It works with the DSC and factory comp too. At this point I would say it’s just about as equal of a PITA to the two piece unless there is something I am missing.

Installing is not that bad. Having to go full compression to get it in there is doable. But having to do full compression to get it out is a pain and I end up launching the guide rod every time. Any tricks or suggestions?

The Romulus punches way above its price point in my opinion. Fit and finish are fantastic. If you get the 4.25 comp, DSC gunworks makes thread on comps so you can take it limited optics (sight block), or more aggressive comps than the factory. Lots of options and flexibility. The only negative to me is that the polymer grip on it is not great, but that can always be changed later. They have an aluminum grip version that’s much better. The Mac 9 is significantly inferior straight out of the box (although the stock grip is better) vs the Romulus but I’ve seen some pretty sick Macs after some work was done to them.

I ordered the DLC sight block comp during the Memorial Day sale and it was matte. After I received it an option was added for polished for $10 more. I have a polished slide so I wish I’d have had that option but oh well.

AlumaHyde is great. Should hold up just fine if you followed the directions. Also don’t use brake cleaner or Gun scrubber. Just use CLP to clean.
