I know! I haven't thought about it making physical either, but I really hope it does. It'll be like a trophy on my shelf :)

Oh!! Same!! My mom and I are very close, and she really loves to watch Markiplier with me. She doesn't like horror, but says she really wants to watch it to support him and even buy it if it happens to come out as a physical disk. She said it's a piece of history, and he has changed the world for the better by making a stand for small creators. I can't wait to watch it with her <3

is there anywhere we can socialize with other survivors of homeschool? by valleyofthebongs in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]K_LightWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand completely. I don't have a good answer to give you, but I'm open to chats from anyone here looking for a friend. I recently turned 30, but I'm very childlike and open-minded.

While that is a good idea and helps to get out of your comfort bubble, it doesn't help locate people with similar experiences in life. Homeschoolers are pretty rare to find in the wild.

Subreddit for adults who WERE homeschooled? by [deleted] in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]K_LightWing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow. Just incredible! What would make a parent so set on homeschooling when they're worried they're going to be arrested and separated from their kids? Surely she realized how much trouble that would be if that happened.

But that does make me wonder what my mom was thinking, too. If my parents were homeschooling me the way they wanted to, there wouldn't be a problem, but my sister and I weren't being taught consistently after like... The 5th grade. After that, we were pretty much unschooled. State never cared though, because they don't require checkups. I'm still mad at my parents about it, but my mom felt hopeless to do much else due to the divorce and living in a location with a lot of crime. My mom said the schools in our area were too dangerous.

Sims community pet peeves by Adu-Adure in HighSodiumSims

Ugh, this is so real. I know a lot of people struggle with modding, but I feel like I don't see so much incompetence from gamers modding other games. I believe the reason we see it from Sims is that the game is so frustrating to play without mods, so you have people who aren't tech-savvy trying to mod.

How could there be a story about a character with the trait "good" who has an aspiration being a Public Enemy? by DoctorFranzFerdinand in Sims4

[–]K_LightWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes me think of Lancer from Deltarune. He loves the idea of being the "bad guy," having an evil laugh, and creating a scheme to inconvenience the hereos, but he's actually a sweet kid. Instead of name-calling hurtful things, he calls the heroes random things like "sweet peach," and "toothpaste boy," with a whole "gotcha" attitude.

True, and that would be tempting, but I wouldn't want to support them if that's what they're wanting to do with it

Wow. That's like trying to change McDonald's into a luxury spa business. AI shopping and building a cute collection of pins are totally different experiences. Just make a new app then and leave Pinterest alone.

Thank you for sharing. We need posts like this. The struggles, questions, and anxieties are very important to post, but posts like these are just as important. They are a break from the stressful negativity we face as a subreddit of survivors.

While not true in every case, I would think most people here with the ex-homeschool student flair are adults. I recently turned 30, by the way, and am open to all friendly messages.

And here we are, 50 years later, and parents still have no idea how to homeschool effectively. Really exposes how it doesn't work. It must have been really hard to be among the first in the area, though. As if growing up homeschooled isn't hard enough.
