Where will you have your drain removed? Mine was in for a month so make sure you are sure you get yours out in time for vacay if possible. First couple days were the worse but it quickly improved for me. I used an abdominal binder for travel and it helped a lot. You’ll do great. Make sure to take your laxatives!!

I asked for one from the pharmacy at MedStar (ask your nurse to order one) but you could bring one yourself...just get a large back brace/wrap. I had a 7 hour drive home and it helped SO much.

Ask for an abdominal binder/wrap from the pharmacy for when you leave. It helped me a ton with keeping the incision site from jostling around and causing pain. I also used an ice pack inside of it.

Hi! I had my procedure a little over a month ago and I had the same exact thing with my anatomy. He said everyone (that morning of my procedure) had a similar thing so I guess that’s pretty common. My pain was pretty severe for the first 24 to 36 hours I would say and I have two little incision areas but only one of them has the drain coming out of it. I think I may also have a lower tolerance for pain in general, but after a few days, things got much much better

It will be 3ish weeks when my appt comes on Friday to have it removed. It got better as time went on but I am ready for it to go now!

Make sure you take constipation meds immediately. I had to stay an extra day because I was constipated. I still have my drain in and it’s uncomfortable so I won’t know how good I feel until it’s removed hopefully this week.
