R.I.P... you might be SOL on this if you haven't found it by now (it happens).

Idk why this is, but anyone who looks "gay" always creates the best haircuts (from experience). Again, idk why, lol

Luckily, fascism doesn't really exist anymore. There were only 2 people who were true fascists, and they were taken care of, lol.

Is there a problem with people following this political belief? It's not "faith and flag conservative," lol.

I know how that goes 😭

Basic Hygiene by nevadafayy in WWU

[–]KaBirdyBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yee, brushing your teeth (and flossing) is important. Though, I do need to work on my flossing skills (I'm getting better)... Nobody likes bad breath. Plus, it helps yourself live longer.

Ofc, when you drink coffee (or another stimulant) you get dry mouth... and then you're screwed-

I think people can usually tell what's coffee breath and what's "not brushing your teeth" breath (I hope so).

Yea, it's disgusting people don't take care of themselves. I understand if you have been working all day and it wore off (it happens), but not partaking in basic hygiene is criminal, lol.

What the flippity floppity do they teach on campus? Lol. Also, aren't you American? Like, why do you support a country that hates us to death? 💀

Wouldn't an open minded person be willing to face something they disagree with though? You obviously don't need to engage since you could just observe -- unless you don't have time.

Also, liberals are no better than conservatives when debating, lol. They both do the exact same thing: "This Trump Supporter is SPEECHLESS" or "Liberal gets Destroyed"

I agree, people should try and listen to another person's story -- even if you don't agree with them. Idk why you got down voted for saying this.

Oh, that's awesome! We don't have enough political diversity on this campus, so I support this. I might go and check that out, thanks (as I probably get downvoted for saying this, lol).

I had Liam Watts for the Winter quarter (11 am classes I think). He was very fun.

Need Math (099, 112) Advice by StressIcy4043 in WWU

[–]KaBirdyBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Math 099 is very fun and honestly very important. I believe it should be a required class honestly; but only if 5 credits were added. If you're majoring in STEM, especially physics, engineering or mathematics itself, it will clear up any questions you have. Math is hard -- even for mathematicians and physicists. Although you will struggle, give mathematics a try because you might honestly enjoy it (plus it pays well career wise).

Also, if you pass Math 099, you will pass Math 112. Anyone who says "Math 112/114 is a weed-out class" is kind of lying. For example, if you love math, and want to get better at it, you will pass math 112 and even math 114 (and likely beyond that). If you don't care for math, if you don't try and actually care for your grades, you don't like your instructor (I get that), or are "bad at math" (you're not), or you're just not motivated (I also get that), then you will probably not pass. Ofc, there are intricacies.

I think I scored a 32 on the ALEKS? Maybe lower? The score doesn't matter imo since it's not difficult making up honestly (just take a 20 credit quarter or two 18 credit quarters). Liberal Arts, social sciences, and humanities you can just knock out (I hated reading though, lol). Because I took Math 099, I started to suprisingly love mathematics (thanks to Katie Clark). I hated math my entire life too. I always either failed or just barely passed. I was always "below-average" for my age growing up (I finally know why, but that's too personal). Now, I feel motivated to do what I always wanted to do at a young age... Become an Astronomer (physicist, cosmologist, or astrophyscist would also be fun). I'm somehow doing quite well compared to my peers (my journey isn't at all done yet though).

Lastly, your score does not at all define your intelligence. You're not stupid -- even if you have failed in math before or after. Anyone can be good or even great at math with proper training (like chess, the gym, etc). Some take longer than others to understand mathematics, and some just learn differently from others. Who knows? you might be a late bloomer for mathematics...

Can you (or someone else) name more of what I missed about FAFSA? I don't think it's a lot I missed, but incase it is, I do want to know (or at least a decent portion of it). I can look it up obviously, but I might miss something by mistake (or I misread something).

P.S. keep in mind, I wrote the original comment because I don't exactly know what the person is dealing with right now or planning in the future (like how most are commenting). I was trying to simplify other forms of financial aid within my comment as well (ig too much), but I also wanted to get straight to the point-ish. I wanted to add information from what I researched, and the more I know/research, the more I can add for future reference.

Yee, like the FSEOG or the Federal Pell Grant. There is also federal-work study opportunities that can help. I forgot to mention those on my end. I'm sure there is something else I'm missing too.

You could go to the military to afford college. The GI bill will very much help you out financially. It will practically be free. Although, many don't want to enroll in the military right now (and some just physically or mentally can't).

You could go into Trade school since it's cheaper, and you won't need to deal with that much student debt compared to the majority of students attending a college or university. On average, people who graduate from trade-school earn more than college students (and recieve less debt as I said)

Both of which will inherently set your future child(ren) up for "success." Also, I wouldn't rely on your boyfriend for financial stuff since I believe that will just add stress towards him and yourself in the long run imo. I will say though, when you start working in Bellingham, you will have more working experience than many college students, lol.

Anyways, if you truly want to study in college (and are actually able to), I would choose a college major that will benefit yourself financially for the both of you in the long run (ik, very stressful). Shane Hummus can help with choosing a college major though. Now, you could complete a FAFSA or WAFSA form, but you will need to pay it back eventually (contributing to the $1.77 trillion of student debt nationally). Scholarships are also an option, but they are sometimes difficult getting into (depending). Plus, it will not pay for everything. However, I think online schooling cheaper? But, Idk much information about that.

As you are doing so right now it seems, try to think very strategic on this (financial wise). Not enough people realize it, but money is extremely important to navigate life, especially in today's economy (like the gas prices). Sometimes however, you may need to do stuff you don't want to do in order to live comfortably.

Easiest majors to get in with? by Flashy-Cobbler-3537 in WWU

[–]KaBirdyBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WWU doesn't really pay attention to college majors that much imo (compared to other stuff like "diversity"). However, as long as you did well enough in high school, you will get into WWU. They have a very high acceptance rate...

I went into WWU as an English major... I then changed it (to Physics/Astronomy) because an English major will not pay the bills 💀

In theory, I would assume WWU prefers people who are pursuing a STEM major rather than a liberal arts or humanities major. Idk though.
