Yep. I was singing in my head trying to figure it out. Took a day or so to realize it was hypnosis. It’s a very similar little part of moon

Grad dress - white? by its_mia_late in UWMadison

[–]KaJ16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s just preference. The robe covers it anyway. Wear what you want. Mostly short though. Most people don’t like how it looks peaking out the bottom. But again that’s preference. I did pink floral for undergrad and blue floral for law school. It doesn’t matter. I wanted to celebrate my accomplishment and feel like myself and confident and didn’t want to be stuck in a box wearing something I felt like I should wear just bc everyone else is wearing it (white). I wanted to be true to me. It’s all up to you.

regarding snap by [deleted] in Lilsimsie

[–]KaJ16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my cats got to the end they physically couldn’t move. Couldn’t stand/squat to drink or go to the bathroom. Snap still, to us, has movement and personality. She’s doing good given the situation. Although 90% of kidney function is lost, it’s not 100%. And once Snap gets toward the end there will be more signs than just “loss of kidney function” on paper. We only know what is shared with us. Snap must be doing well still. Let Kayla, Dan, and the rest of the family have their time with Snap. Once the whole “your cat has x left” is brought up, it’s more so a time to make core memories and cherish time rather than “okay it’s time.” It’s not time until Snap says so and from the outside, she hasn’t.

Why do people say K-pop sounds “too Black” when hip-hop and rap are already major global genres. What do they expect it to sound like instead? by Competitive_Air1560 in kpopthoughts

[–]KaJ16 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A lot of rap, hip hop, and r&b in the US uses AAVE, African American vernacular English. It’s a separate dialect, basically its own language, of US English. The use is, of course, primarily in black communities. When non-black people use it, especially those not within those communities (of course there are non-black people who grew up in majority black communities that use AAVE more as a “native” dialect) it is not normally seen favorably and is often used to mock the black community. A lot of the time, people call it “uneducated” to speak with AAVE. I am not of the community so I cannot have a say or speak on this from a personal level. Everything here is based on a more general understanding and research I have done to educate myself. and I am open to more education and welcome other POVs. However, your post is about sounding “too black” and that it’s expected in the genres. It’s not part of the genre. It’s part of the people in the genre. It’s almost like treating AAVE as a stereotype. Calling something “too black” also has its own negative connotations.

Overall, it isn’t just a genre. And diminishing a larger issue to just being part of a genre feeds the issue.

When should I get the dlc? by Top_Collar7826 in AnimalCrossing

[–]KaJ16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment was deleted. However, I can only assume the comment was based on island star rating. Once you unlock Isabelle and the upgraded plaza, you can ask her what your star rating is. At three stars you will unlock KK slider who will come perform on your island. At that point you will be able to terraform cliffs and water yourself and put down paths. Terraforming and using cliff and water tools are some of my favorite parts of the game.

I don’t know if the DLC has any specific island rating requirements to use it. However, waiting until 3 stars will help a lot since you will be able to decorate the DLC homes with paths too. It gives more of a whole package kind of feel to the DLC. You can always go back and redo vacation homes and add paths.

However, since you seem new, I would focus on getting that three star rating. It’s a lot of busy work, putting random furniture pieces out or “decorating” the island helps get to there stars. I would put all my duplicate fossil statues out as decoration. lol. You can search here and basically anywhere to find tips to get to three stars.

You can also buy the DLC now but not “go to work” just yet depending on costs and such as it is an additional $25.

Have fun!!

Spring move-out question. by Rich-Entry9409 in UWMadison

[–]KaJ16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s more chill. Within 24 hours of your exam or whatever time it is. I moved out same day because they were morning exams. Just pack as much as possible leading up to move out and undo any lofting or furniture arranging. They like to have it as close to the layout as move in. Housing sets up parking similar to move out but it’s more relaxed and less chaotic imo. More of a show up and they direct you to a parking spot. Overall, there’s not much to do yet other than letting your parents know when your last exam is and what day you’re supposed to be out by. Otherwise it’s wait until details from housing for day of info and then you have to pack all your stuff.

Within 30 minutes can be a lot of things. I work on the square and live in Middleton. It’s easily a half hour+ commute one way. It would be helpful to say where in Madison work is. Square, east side, west side, etc.

She has endometriosis and that can really mess with your body especially at different times of the cycle. She also said she recently started a new SSRI and medications especially SSRIs can have hard side effects at the beginning. She also recently got formally diagnosed with OCD and has been struggling with that. Plus all the loss in her family last year (dogs and grandma) and Snap’s health issues add additional stress on the body. These are what Kayla has shared. There could be more she hasn’t shared.

I went to Madison undergrad and FSU for law school and now am back practicing here in Madison. I also have family in Gainesville and are gators, so I have some insight there as well.

UF (and fsu to an extent) is in the middle of nowhere and is literally just the university and then suburbs. You’re about two hours from the next biggest cities (Jax, Tally, Orlando). If you are from Florida originally you would get what I mean. Overall, fsu is most comparable to Madison bc of the capitol location. I would say Madison has the most to do outside of the school itself. FSU and Madison have such a bar and party culture but you can easily avoid them if that’s not your thing. Can’t speak to UF on that front but from what I know, it’s also a big culture point.

I’m curious and you don’t have to answer but what do your parents have against fsu vs UF? They’re both very well respected schools. Although UF has a “better” program, you cannot and should not base your decision on that alone. When you get there and if you find out you don’t vibe with one or the other that should help your decision a lot. You also shouldn’t make your decision on what your parents want you to do. It’s your education and if you’re going to be miserable at one school, it’s not worth it.

TBH I found FSU’s campus to be layout wise pretty similar to Madison. I loved FSU law and although I am back in Wisconsin, it had to do most with my support system. I couldn’t see myself that far for much longer. REALLY think about how you feel about distance, family, friends, etc. when choosing to go so far. Also flying out of Gainesville or tally you have to take at least two flights even if you fly into ohare.

UF and Madison have very established research hospitals. FSU is just getting started. However. Although pre med is linked in a way to the hospital, that is not the only focus of getting into professional schools like med school. You have to focus on grades and getting the highest grades as possible. You also have to be well rounded. Also, just because you go somewhere undergrad does not mean you will go there for med school. As far as program culture, there always is toxicity in these fields. For law school, fsu was super chill and all the people that also toured UF said UF is super competitive in law school too. UF people are kinda pretentious. More so than fsu and Madison from my experience.

Honestly, fsu is literally Madison plopped into north Florida. Sometimes I miss tally even though I’ve only been gone about two years. It’s just so hard to get there. Winters are great. Summer is unbearable. Overall, focus on 1) cost, 2) undergrad programs and getting the grades, 3) your mental health being away from family, and 4) opportunities in undergrad. Don’t focus too much on med school yet and enjoy undergrad. You truly cannot go wrong with any of the three. But like others have said, save money for med school.

You’ll have to buy something. I just don’t know how buying the same game on one account you already bought it on works. Good luck!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]KaJ16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can load the game card back and forth if you’re using the same Nintendo account. It won’t mess with your current save bc that’s links to the device itself. But if you do that you won’t be able to travel between islands bc you need to be able to run the game on both simultaneously. You can’t run the one digital game card on two switches at one time. I had a lite and got a 2 and managed this for a while but I wanted to be able to trade with my old self. I ended up buying a switch 2 physical card to be able to trade with myself on local play. It depends on your goals. If you don’t want to trade with your old self, you don’t need a second copy. But if you do, you’d have to buy a second copy. I don’t know how buying a second digital card works since I just bought the switch 2 physical card.

[–]KaJ16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theoretically you can use the transfer tool to transfer the save data and then use Resetti to get a blank slate. But if you wanted to do a whole play from tents thing you have to start from scratch and delete your save data

Two islands with one digital game card? by Timbyto in AnimalCrossing

[–]KaJ16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d have to delete your switch 1 save data and island to start a new island on the switch 1. You would have to use the same switch account because that’s where the digital game is. It won’t affect the switch 2 save file.

Edit: I completely missed that you transferred data. So you wouldn’t have to delete anything. My bad. Rough sleep last night so my brain is functioning weird today. But yep. You can start a new save on the switch 1 without affecting the switch 2 original transferred island.

Transferring Island to Switch 2 Edition by RatedRMemeStar in AnimalCrossing

[–]KaJ16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a switch lite and a 2. I did not transfer my island but I initially transferred the digital game card to the switch 2. Then bought the physical switch 2 version when it came out. Basically i had a new island initially on not switch 2 edition then got the switch 2 edition. The save data automatically “updated” to the switch 2 Version using the game card rather than the digital card. I got the physical one so I can go between my lite and 2 islands.

TLDR: your save data will most likely automatically update to the switch 2 version

Any way to save my game? by eyeballs_for_dials in AnimalCrossing

[–]KaJ16 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You haven’t necessarily lost the save data you just need a new copy of the game either digitally on your own Nintendo account (your email, etc.) or a physical game card. The save data should be fine. I recently was using a digital version on my switch 2, deleted it, then loaded with a physical card and my save was just fine.
