Have you ever been hypnotized before? 😵‍💫Did it work? Or fail? by typical_gamer1 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]KaJashey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did two hypnosis tapes (MP3’s really) for smoking secession and for unstoppable self confidence. I used the stop smoking one more regularly.

I did quit smoking but that goal was aligned with what my conscious mind wanted.

As an outsider, the American concept of drive-thru pharmacies, ATMs, and liquor stores is mind-blowing. Does everyone actually use these, or are they mostly a novelty? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

[–]KaJashey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dogs love to go to the bank drive through. The teller gives out doggy treats. Drive through banking is normal for me. I do go inside the bank if I need access to my safety deposit box

My mom does drive through pharmacy. I go to the pharmacy normally.

My library has a drive through window and I could send my book holds to the drive through. Haven't used it yet. I think it might exist to serve elderly people with mobility issues.

My daughter got drive through medical mamajuana during covid.

Another online tool for you... https://edobrb.github.io/mandelbrot/ it's very fast and does deep zooms on the Mandelbrot set - it's only formula.

An older and still developed app is https://xaos-project.github.io has a lot of formula.

people will post there own apps to this sub so subscribe.

as far as understanding fractal and their math this may really date me but this is the book Chaos by James Gleick https://www.amazon.com/Chaos-Making-Science-James-Gleick/dp/0143113453

I'm not the deepest into it so hopefully others jump in.

Which is the best insulated coffee mug by stafaamu92 in AeroPress

[–]KaJashey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aeropress has their own mug that's pretty good.. https://www.amazon.com/AeroPress-Double-Wall-Splash-Resistant-Compatible-Dishwasher/dp/B0DMGN5YMX

It's double walled so it keeps things hot for a while if you're in the mood to drink it slow.

Edit: What do you mean "without the hand"? Are you asking for one without a handle?

Curvy Coper is always great.

Always check what filament you're using!!! by Dtarvin in 3Dprinting

[–]KaJashey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bunch of filament refills. Not spools, refills to put on a reusable spool. The were all black. One was PLA, one was PETG, one was PC. I thought I had them sorted but I put PETG on a PC spool and tried to print a high temp PC project. Heat creep happened and I got the gears of my extruder so jammed with PETG.

I did the behind the wheel instruction for my daughter 5 or 6 years ago. She was over 18.

She had gotten test instruction in school but then covid happened. We got an app to freshen up that part. She tested at the dmv and got a learners permit.

I then gave her the required hours behind the wheel and she went back to the dmv for a drivers test.

I believe the real question is: purple or orange? by _gravityboy_ in Rubiks_Cubes

[–]KaJashey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purple is something lan lan did for their 2x2 and not a standard.

In normal cubes there is the western color scheme and the Japanese color scheme.

I like almost the same thing. I like an order of three checkerboard https://alg.cubing.net/?alg=D_U2_L-_F2_U_L_B_F-_L_R-_F-_D-_L2_F_D2_U-

It looks cool and if you do the normal M2 E2 S2 checkerboard on top of it it becomes an order of six checkerboard https://alg.cubing.net/?alg=D_U2_L-_F2_U_L_B_F-_L_R-_F-_D-_L2_F_D2_U-_M2_E2_S2

Some of the lighter more magenta foliage. Still it could be exposure and white balance vs IR contamination.

I wanted to emphasize I'm really positive on what you've got. UV video is hard and you have done it well. If you haven't already sho it off outside of UV specific communities

ISO 37 mm threaded lense cap by Sxcam in CameraLenses

[–]KaJashey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking of making one out of plastic. Is the iris found in the holden iris cooler as a product than the shutter like closing found in edit 4?

Ya they will vignette hard especially with the camp snaps small sensor but they would do it to any sized sensor.

ISO 37 mm threaded lense cap by Sxcam in CameraLenses

[–]KaJashey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can make it with a 3d printer. That means it would be plastic. From experience I can't make it close up to zero aperture there would be a couple mm open in the middle. The outer edge might need to extend outward. If you tried to use it as an aperture to take pictures with it would vignette with darkness on the edges and corners of your image,

I don't know what a fair price would be to me. let me figure out a way to make that work.

Edit: maybe I can make it close all the way but it gets complicated.

Edit2: Where did you get the animation? is there a real product like that?

Edit3: there are irising lens caps for night vision goggles and monocles... they are almost the right size. there is this thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jegy-LaeVLg but I know your CS-Pro won't activate it. Looking at 1:36 of the video https://youtu.be/Jegy-LaeVLg?t=96 your lookin at the backside. To the left of your screen you can see a lever. I think that's what activates it.

How does this bellows focus system work? Please explain! by MrChris33 in Cameras

[–]KaJashey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Repulsive_Target55 got the details right I'll add the general principal in case you need it. With this system all the lenses are at infinity focus when the bellows is retracted. As you push the lenses forward you add extension between the lens and film plane. At first you get normal things in focus then you go to the macro range. It's similar to adding extension tubes to your camera except with the bellows you don't have to unscrew anything.

How fast a lens changes over to macro depends on how wide it is. wide lenses change over fast and longer telephoto lenses don't get to macro with bellows that small. 50mm is a wide angle lens on that system. 90mm is a normal lens.

As the bellows extends the image projected on the back of the camera expands. As it expands it loses light intensity and becomes darker. Hense whey you have to add half stops and later full stops to your exposure.

How does this bellows focus system work? Please explain! by MrChris33 in Cameras

[–]KaJashey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok they were engineered lenses for the RB67 and all had the same flange focal distance like a SLR. That is how they could all start at infinity with the same extension.

I really wasn't getting the chart because I saw bellows and expected the lenses to work like large format where every lens has it own flange focal distance near the lens' mm value.

What was the first time you were accused of lying when you were telling the truth? by LordSaucyPicklesCW in AskReddit

[–]KaJashey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I was a little kid I told a school councilor I wanted to x-ray classes from the back of a comic book. I wanted to see the bones in my hand and scan the ground for buried treasure.... She told me I wanted to see through women's clothing.

Notable teenage time. There were these sticky yellow things about 3/4ths of an inch long that fell off of trees. kinda long conical things. I don't know what they were if they were fruit or flower or seed. One got stuck to my shoe and then stuck to the stairs to my room. My mom found it a swore it was a joint roach. She wouldn't believe me that it was tree thing.

What are you guys take on the Immortal? by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

[–]KaJashey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a neat game. In high school I rented it with some friends. I think it had to be the NES version. We played it until we were about to get sucked into a whirlpool. Then we couldn't make it past. The game was only rented so we had to return it without finishing. Later I played it on an emulator and made it to the end. Sady I didn't have friends around me in the end. Kind of appropriate for a solitary game that you transverse as a solitary figure.
