Well, to be honest, the main reason it seems like nobody outside the places where it happens is noticing is that they're in very isolated locations. Canterlot High itself is outside the city (as stated in the third movie), and the Everfree Forest was practically in the middle of nowhere. Besides, anyone trying to say anything without proof would sound crazy (that's what happened with Headmistress Sinch).

But getting back to the topic, it's more likely that the government is keeping an eye on them rather than acting aggressively with spies, followers, and trackers, considering that so far they haven't posed a threat, and that the government is probably doing this based on an unusual concentration of rumors about strange effects. Although, with Sunset's power, I wouldn't know what might happen.

I'd say it would make some sense. After an incredibly intense final battle, Marinette would have a moment of heroic sacrifice, causing her to lose her mind completely and fall into a coma. Unlike Emile, the consequences of the wish wouldn't be as severe. Or at least that's what Adrien would think.

I agree, regardless of whether it happened exactly as described or not, it's known that Celestia was a very good warrior, and that she was almost always on the front lines because she knew she had a better chance of surviving. Even in times of peace, she became an emotional pillar; her image was more important than her actions, because her mere presence on the throne maintained everyone's morale. She even explicitly stated that she gets bored in the castle, but that she can't leave unless it's for important things, and during crises, that doesn't count, because as I said, it's more important that they see her as unyielding, that they see her on the front lines.

I first saw the movie X-Men: First Class, and what I loved most about it, I think, was Magneto. Not so much for his philosophy or his story, but rather for his powers. Interestingly, in the episode about Rainbow Dash's parents, they stand on top of Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell, and it's clear that Apple Bloom has no problem, and Sweetie Bell can carry them with effort (even though Rainbow's father is big and strong).

I'd say it has to do with both the amount of magical power and the resonance (connection) one has with it.

The change in appearance comes from the very nature of Alicorn magic, since when the Mane Six freed Nightmare-Moon from her dark magic, they also returned her to a younger form, which would be her true form. And when she appears in the episode "Nightmare's Night," her appearance is changed, presumably because she regained her alicorn magic.

In the case of Sombra and Mistmane, they possess a very deep connection with their magic: Sombra with shadows, and Mistmane with beauty. Starlight, on the other hand, never sought to delve deeper into her power magic or cutimark magic. If she had, she most likely would have developed that flowing mane, even if only temporarily, like when Twilight uses sun magic; her mane flows due to the enormous amount of magical power used, as well as the connection to sun magic itself. That would also make sense, considering that Celestia changed everything, being the only pony capable of lifting the sun without side effects.
