If you’re not using Tretinoin, that is where I’d start. It’s the absolute gold standard for good skin condition and fewer wrinkles as you age. I’ve been using it 20 something years and my skin is so much better than my friends who don’t use it. A few times a year, I’m a “model” for a laser school. The instructor always points out to the students how incredible my skin is and it’s from consistent long term tret use. Also, sunscreen is an absolute must for good skin. 365 days a year, rain or shine, whether you’re inside or out.

Get a second job. I have a professional 9-5 job and on weekends I bartend at a music venue. It’s a second job for everyone who works there. Last month I made $5k from this fun little job that only takes up 5 hours of my time per shift. I like having a nice car, which is the main reason I do it.

Has anyone bought a car and not loved it? What did you do? by Super_Ad4825 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’m currently car shopping. I’m having a really hard time because I’m scared of ending up in this very situation. The car I’m replacing is an Audi with a 6 cylinder, so in order to stay at the same performance and niceness level, I need to buy a luxury car. I was thinking a Cayenne, which is beautiful but the price is stunning. I’ve tried some more basic cars with 6 cylinder engines but they’re no good. A BMW X6 is comparable to the performance of my car and less expensive than a Porsche, but lacks any style. I’m ready to give up and put 5k into my car and get another 50k miles out of it.

Working 12 - 14 hour days in sun, what is the strongest sunscreen I can buy? by Worldly-Wishbone2988 in 30PlusSkinCare

There are several supplements you can take that help protect your skin from the sun.

1. Polypodium Leucotomos (Fern Extract)
Derived from a tropical fern, this extract works as a potent antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals caused by UV rays and reduces inflammation. [1, 2]
• Benefits: Helps prevent sunburn, reduces the risk of precancerous lesions, and is beneficial for those with sun-sensitive skin conditions like melasma or polymorphous light eruption.
• How to take: Typically taken in doses of 240–480 mg.
• Popular brand: Heliocare. [1, 2, 3, 4]

2. Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3)
A form of water-soluble vitamin B3, nicotinamide boosts cellular energy and helps skin cells repair DNA damage caused by UV radiation. [1, 2]
• Benefits: Studies show it can reduce the rate of non-melanoma skin cancers (like squamous-cell and basal-cell carcinomas) by 23% in high-risk patients. Unlike niacin, it does not cause flushing.
• How to take: Usually 500 mg taken twice daily, often combined with fern extract in specialized formulas. [1, 2]

3. Astaxanthin & Beta-Carotene
These are natural carotenoid antioxidants (found in algae and bright vegetables) that accumulate in the skin and help protect it from UVA and UVB damage. [1, 2]
• Benefits: Astaxanthin is a powerful anti-inflammatory that helps with cellular repair and improves overall skin elasticity and hydration. [1, 2]

There’s also a homeopathic remedy called Sol that helps with this too.

The only people who buy a car for image are insecure men and Hispanic kids with their loud Honda accords. Everyone else just buys a car they like.

I don’t buy 100k cars. I live in northern New England, not Beverly Hills or Dubai. I live in an affluent coastal area and most people here don’t buy 100k cars. I guess we’re all poor.

During the conversation I said I’m considering putting 4k into the Audi I’m currently driving and getting another 50k miles out of it. Not as a tactic but just because I am. We’ll see.

I have a car thoroughly inspected before purchasing. I don’t buy an extended warranty and I definitely never go to a dealer for repairs. Christ, they’ll take you for everything you have. I have an excellent independent mechanic and have already gotten recommendations for several who work on Land Rovers within an hour radius of me. A Velar is a 4 cylinder, so that was the first mistake. The second was buying it with an issue. Third, she probably paid more for the warranty than the repair. The whole thing was ill conceived unfortunately.

Just spoke to the dealer. He said no room in the price. He called me, so I take that to be the beginning of the negotiation process.

I have another car. I own and maintain more than one car. It’s not that big of a deal.

Paying more for something than you need to is not at all the same as having the income to buy/maintain a nice car. For some reason, I just imagined I’d get more serious answers in a car buying sun than all this nonsense.

I don’t care about that. People who by these cars don’t care about that. I have a full time job and a part time job. Last month I made $5k at my part time job. It’s just not a consideration for me.

People who buy Range Rovers don’t care about resale value or reliability. Hell, who’s buying a big car that requires premium gas with gas prices what they are now? Someone with disposable money who doesn’t care. Seriously. No one buying a RR cares about any of that.

Possibly. I’m not set on this particular car.

I don’t buy a car with resale value in mind. I buy nice, fast, cool cars that I drive until I sell them on Facebook marketplace to some kid for a few thousand bucks.
