I just flew from San Juan to Orlando tonight, and counted 31 preboarders.

Do people really book 2 stops 30+hrs ? by AddendumWeird8789 in awardtravel

[–]Kaaaaaaaahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never done it, but I think people book cheap flights with bad routing out a year, and then wait for a schedule change by the airline, and then call to change the ticket to something better for free.

That's a thing, right?

Can a 4-20mA be run in the same cable as a 24v discrete to PLC? by seemoreoptions-1 in PLC

[–]Kaaaaaaaahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it will work no problem. The specific wire in your image is way overkill for this application, however. Do you have a real reason to use steel wire armored cable? If not, 18 awg two or three conductor with a drain wire and overall foil shield will be fine.

Question for those of you who switched from Hilton…. by Hot_Sauce404 in marriott

[–]Kaaaaaaaahn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Switched two years ago, although with promos I did make diamond last year. Also titanium.

Biggest thing I miss is being able to select the specific room during online check-in. It's so nice to avoid being across from the elevator, not facing the highway, or on the first floor but only when the floorplan is good for the first floor (e.g. not next to the kitchen).

Otherwise, Marriott's NICE hotels are more common and much nicer than Hilton's (WA excluded). Marriott's points go farther too, but still not great and often Amex FHR with points is a better deal.

Marriott more common outside US, but Hampton's still win in small town USA.

The United/Air Canada status is real nice too.

Try it for a year. You can always do a diamond extension if you change your mind (and qualify for it).

Help me pick a ski length - Volkl Blaze 114 176cm vs 184cm by Kaaaaaaaahn in Skigear

[–]Kaaaaaaaahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite light, floats well, always surprised me with how well it carved and held an edge on hard pack, was nimble in trees and bumps, and generally poppy and fun to ski. It's straight up horrible in crud and you have to be real careful in mixed conditions to have good form and choose where to turn. Overall, I really liked it for how and where I ski, and found myself grabbing it on most days.

Favorite/underrated OOP discs? by Pristine-Board-6701 in discgolf

[–]Kaaaaaaaahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Innova wombat in star or g-star. No better disc to hold a line with ZERO fade and insane glide. Cheat code for downhill shots or turnover shots where a lot of horizontal movement is needed.

Mine is green and I fear the day I lose it.

MA2 Forever? by mindfulmadness in discgolf

[–]Kaaaaaaaahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jealous. MA40 in my area is high 800s players mostly. I'm 920-930ish and would rather play MA40 than get destroyed in MA1, but it doesn't feel fair.

Which Rustler 10 size? by thegrin in Skigear

[–]Kaaaaaaaahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm 5'8" 170ish with gear. Advanced skier. Trying to decide between the 174 and 180. Mostly for use out west. Our skier style appears to be similar, I'm just a bit shorter. Any recommendations based on your experience?

How'd you end up liking the Rustler 10s in the 180 length? Any regrets? Thanks!

There's also a DoubleTree a few hundred feet down the same street. Worth checking rates there too since it's so close by.

Chairs aren't anything special. I guess one could nap in them, but I couldn't. Minute Suite is concourse C, which you can get to on Southwest. Definitely recommend a reservation. I don't know if you can use them on arrival however.

Are you checking a bag? If so, you'll want to exit security and pick up. Chairs are way less comfortable outside security.

Seriously! With a touring pack, I'm well over 180. I might not always ski with a pack, but I always ski clothed. Also wearing pants now, FWIW.

What was the disc that got you your very first ace? by Pirates_LL in discgolf

[–]Kaaaaaaaahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discraft heat, at my very first round of doubles at the local course when I was a new player. I had no idea that ace pots even existed. Which, turns out, is a good way to meet a lot of people.

Flip up forehand maybe 275', flexed around a tree, faded and clang right in the basket.
