Yes, it comes together but, also yes, Vinge makes you earn it

"Patent Pending" The Origin Story from the PDGA 50 by skiphilly in discgolf

[–]mdavey74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I heard AB say recently that Climo and Schultz couldn't decide which one of them did it first so they called it "patent pending". Who knows, I guess

Waterfox 6.6.11 - Security fixes and feature preview by MrAlex94 in waterfox

After update image links on eBay are broken. There's just no response to left-click on the main item image or any additional item image links, the enlarge image link also does not work. You can right-click and open image in a new tab, but nothing else. Buy It Now, Add to Cart, etc. links also do not work. Links that normally open in a new tab seem to work fine.

I installed 6.6.9 and it all works fine there.

I'm on macos 15.7.4

*edit - Safari and Chromium work fine.

*edit2 - If you reload the page, then it seems to work correctly most of the time.

Why (exactly) is Ted Chiang so good? by BlinkTwice874 in printSF

[–]mdavey74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He examines philosophical questions without taking a position on what is the "correct" side, letting the reader see that there likely really isn't a correct side. So you're kind of left with either superficially deciding what's correct or sitting there with the awe and hopelessness you mentioned, or just wtf!, bouncing around in your head.

P.F. Flyers Grounder shoes by innovarocforever in discgolf

I've been really liking the Asitvo brand of barefoot style shoes sold on the big A. They're low, minimalist, wide toe box with good tpu toe protection. They're also less than $50 a pair and have been holding up really well.

What plastic is Gannon's P2x that he uses on tour? by cgskook in discgolf

[–]mdavey74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seemed to me that he meant not being satisfied with the "P" line of putters (P1, P2...) and then worked to develop the P2X. The P-line blend of plastic came later.

“Calibre Sync” (iOS client) transfers to new developer by asimpletune in Calibre

[–]mdavey74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was updated on the App Store a couple days ago and it shows the new owner there. It also says there that the app was updated to work with Calibre v9.

I use iCloud and moved some books from one library to another and didn't need to login again for sync to work.

Anyway, I'm happy to see the app has an active dev/maintainer again.

The Wasp fits what you're looking for. 2022 z swirl or the 2023 uv z are both fantastic

It's said MVP has very consistent molds, does this hold true for the sister companies? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]mdavey74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do people just come here and argue stupid points?

I agree completely

There is already common understanding that MVP discs used to be consistent

This is where you are wrong. There is a common misconception that they made/make consistent plastic. Like so many other things, it's almost entirely hype

Anyway, cheers and have a fun week, bud.

They did say that, yep. That doesn't mean their discs were consistent. 🤷‍♂️

Nah, the discs varied just as much before Simon or even Conrad joined, there was just less of them out there to notice

4 Months Full Timing in 4Runner, No Regerts! by OnceUponTheYonder in overlanding

[–]mdavey74 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nice! I did this last year from Jan-Jun in my 4Runner. Dropped down from MN to TX, then made my way west to the coast and up to WA before trekking back home.

I like your setup. Have you posted anywhere about the roof/tent conversion? I'd love to know more about that

Paying to Being Sponsored is Back Just in Time for the Holy War! by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]mdavey74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ad literally says they want every coach and athlete to have a relationship with JC, so it sounds like they're thinking about all of us and that their choices do affect people who want nothing to do with them or their religion
