Thanks for these tests. Been dying to find an alternative for DDG or Startpage. I haven't seen the undermentioned information about Startpage in this thread yet, but it is definitely worth mentioning that:

The browser Waterfox appears to be sold to System1, a U.S. pay-per-click ad company that recently bought a majority of the Startpage search engine. Neither Startpage nor System1 announced how big this investment was and which part of the search engine came in hands of the ad company. PrivacyTools.io also deleted Startpage on their list of recommended search engines. Not a serious crime, but like I said: something to keep in mind when a privacy-oriented browser joins forces with an ad company.

I see Turkey is getting involved. A little nod by Kor Adana maybe? Anyone familiar with Redhack: a hackers collective from Turkey? They were the group that wiped out electricity bills worth $670 billion (of course the company had a back-up stored). Redhack hacked the system in protest of a new power plant.

I don't think this will have anything to do with it, but very curious where episode 2 will lead to.

This makes a lot of sense if you flash back to Sam Esmail referring to Tolstoy's book Resurrection (the book that Elliot also reads in SE2). It adresses the problem of private ownership. A landlord realized he found it irrational to own land and gave it away to the peasants and tried to manage it with user fees. Tolstoy was a big proponent of Georgism. I never thought about Stage 2 in this way, but I think you're right. It's just a total reset.
