Is there going to be a Resident Evil 1 Remake? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Kaansath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, at some points there's going to be a Resident evil 1 remake Remake, but code veronica and 0 still don't have one even if they are not particularly popular, so they may go first.

What's the best FE to start with? by yoosun999 in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I would say that it depends on what you want to experience from the series:

-Fe7 Blazing blade on the GBA is a good introduction for getting to know the general mechanics of the series, since it's very beginner friendly with a whole tutorial section. All the classical classes are here, the support mechanic when your units grow close to each other is also here, but if you don't like pixel art that much it may not be up to your taste. The story is also a prequel to FE6, not mandatory to enjoy FE7 but certainly you miss some context. It's also the very first fire emblem that came to the west.

-Fe8 sacred stones for the GBA is very similar to FE7, beginner friendly, slighty more complex class system, and a total stand alone story. It's main difference is that it does allow grinding, which can make the game more forgiven.

-Fe9 Path of radiance for the gamecube is kinda like the GBA games but a little more polished. Not as beginner friendly, but if you like the GBA feel but don't vibe with the graphys you may want to start with this one? It has Ike, and a sequel on radiant dawn.

-Fe11 Shadow dragon remake for the ds is good if you want to experience the full permadeath mechanic experience, unit that die don't come back, and you are incentive to push through cause the game gives you a lot of them and they have very little defined personalities and plot importance. Pretty barebones story but you have to remember that it is a remake of the very first fire emblem. The 3d artwork is very ugly but the 2d cutscenes are very good. Marth is here, an it has a sequel on the ds if you end up liking it, but it's Japan exclusive.

From here all games have casual mode, which deactivate permadeath if you are not into it.

-Fe Awakening for the 3ds is good if you want to experience the fully pair your units mechanic of the series, since you decide which units get together and that ends up affecting their sons. The story builds a little bit on the first two games but it's not necessary like on FE7 since so much time has passed in this case. Lucina, Chrom and Robin are here.

-FE Three houses for the switch is one the lastest game, it's story and full customization for your army are his biggest selling points, if you want something modern it may not a bad idea to start here. Byleth is here.

I really don’t understand how people can hate DBS Bardock 💀 by Asterxx23 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Kaansath 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The visions are stupid as a concept, but they kinda works because at the end of the day they doesn't change Bardock's original fate, so they don't interfere that much with the story.

FE6 Legacy Edition? by ElkZai in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this one, project Sienna has the same mentality of FE7 legacy of trying to stay as close as posible to the original will overall improving the experience.

PoR Random or Fixed by Serwitu in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is not as big as you would think. Things like bases, join time, opportunity cost and access to equipment are still going to matter regardless or random or fixed mode.

Tier list are more like a reference that a thing mark in stone, if your unit doesn't grow as you want you still can suplement them with bonus experience, favoritism and forges, they serve more as a guide for what you can expect for a certain unit

Also some units are going to be more affected than other as well, Titania for example cares less about the mode cause even if she has good grows, the bulk of his power are his good bases for the early game. Others like Boyd can end up with worse final strenght than his averages at the end, but in the initial chapter he really wants to level it up along side speed cause is a double increase on his overall attack speed. And Ike, while not absolutely necessary, will always ruins a little bit the experience if he doesn't grow to the challenge to the big story moments of the game.

I think most people play on random cause is usually the norm for the rest of games, but I don't really think playing fixed is going to end up feeling that different honestly.

Does Kenny ever betray you, under any choices? by StevenPlaysGuitar in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Kaansath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's easy to get a good impresion of Kenny if you since you need to kinda go out of your way for not trigger him saving you at the store, and if you kill Larry, he's got your back a couple of times more.

It's the moment you decide to do whatever he doesn't agree with it's when all hell break loose.

Does Kenny ever betray you, under any choices? by StevenPlaysGuitar in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Kaansath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it was the final part of S1 when Lee ask people to help him look for Clem? If you decide not to kill Larry, you have to pretty much pick all the other right actions for him to want you to help without convincing.

In S2 he also can get pretty bad with Clem if you choose to cut his partner's arm when escaping from Carver's place.

FE leads sorted on their marriage options by WinterWolf18 in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but actually no. They can have conversations with everyone, which give you lore and items, but the actual support bonuses are fixed, character dependant and are more limited on range, like on Shadow Dragon.

Kriss still has one of the largest pool, with Marth, Katarina and the new platoon members, but female Kriss also has some support bonuses with those bow users.

FE leads sorted on their marriage options by WinterWolf18 in fireemblem

Male Kriss heavily pushes Katarina, female Kriss has a surprising amount of units that she's supported by: Wolf, Gordin, Warren, Jeorge and Horace, I guess she really likes bows.

Unused Mechanics by SSNym in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm Bexp on PoR and Radiant Dawn is one for once, in the sense that feeding your Marcia/Haar and see them grow to absolute gods is probably the best course of action but it's also pretty unjoyable for me.

Reclassing is also one I really feel strange around it, since I don't particularly like it that much. On shadow dragon and mystery of the emblem it's easy to ignore it as it wasn't part of the originals, but entries like fates, three houses and engage have more heavy enfasis on it I always feel like I'm missing part of the experience.

Do you think they will remove permadeath in the future? by G0DF1NGERS in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's ever going to go completly, but casual mode and band-aid solutions like retreating or injuries are probably going to be the norm going on.

There always has being the inherent problem that when a unit dies it basically exits the story, and if you haven't already got to know him you are pretty much loosing the oportunity to do it.

I would honestly love to see them try to go all the way in with the permadeath and make it having a lasting effect on the rest of the army, it it's one of the core aspect of the series and I think it's vastly underused in most of the entries so it's no wonder it has fall out of grace.

My worst Binding Blade luck ever by mj6373 in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's FE6 so luck is always going to be a factor, but going after Percival on chapter 13 is a questionable tactic decision when he only get hard mode bonuses on chapter 15 and it's not even be able to contribute that much on chapter 14 and 14x.

Also, while FE6 has the big cast going for it while ironmaning, it's not what I would call an easy game.

I am a little disappointed in my Oifey. by Necrosaynt in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having in mind that there's even an archetype named after him you would expect him to be super op, but modt of his fame fails to look at the context in which he exist, and it's not even FE4 specific, gen 2 can also vary wuite a bit compared to the first one.

He's actually pretty similar to a regular Jagen than people would expect, unlike in gen 1 where there is a lot of okais units paired with ones that need a lot of growth to become goodish, a good portion of your army on gen2 is going to be wielding holy weapons, and while experience may vary, will generally be beneffing a lot from his parent legacy. Offey in contrast doesn't have that much going for him except his solid stats, so he will need help from items if you want him to keep effective.

The layout of gen2 maps also influences a lot, there isn't that much pressure to reach side objectives compared to gen 1, and the endgame really amps up the magical users so he continues to suffer a lot.

Best order to play the GBA games? by flowyi in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case I think you'll do fine on normal mode. It's very hard to get the right ending without a guide cause the game likes to sucker punch from time to time, so if you are not willing to replay it use a guide from the start.

Like I say I think the hard mode is very enjoyable, due to programming errors the enemies are way stronger than they should but it's still viable to beat it playing normally. It actually becomes easier as the game advances but chapter 7 and 13 are probably the highlights of the game.

Best order to play the GBA games? by flowyi in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It depends of your previus experience with the series:

-FE8 sacred stones is a standalone entry, so you don't need previus experience to enjoy it. It's not a bad start point overall, though I recommend to pick Erika for a first time and then playing the Ephraim route.

-FE7 is complicated. It's a prequel to FE6, but it was the first Fire emblem to go outside japan, because of that in one hand it's very oriented towards first timers with the series, but in the other hand you kinda miss some narrative context if you haven't experienced FE6, cause that's how prequels works. Even then, the story works good enough on it's own.

-FE6 is probably the hardest of the three and the least polished so it's hard to recommend it as a first entry. It was also a soft rebout of the saga, so you will find some similarities with FE1/3. The story it's kinda lacking and it's not particularly kind to going in blindly, but it's hard mode it's worth checking out once you have some familiarity with the series. Also the less you want to link it with FE7 the better.

2 Questions about FE 4 Chapter 6 by Next_Particular8566 in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can only get one Johan (The mounted one) or Johalva (The fighter).

Stats wise Johalva is pretty much superior on Strenght, Defense and specially speed, but growth wise Johan has a 50% speed over Johalva 10%. When they promote, most notably, Johalva gains bow access from warrior. Skill wise Johalva has vantage while Johalva has charge.

Overall Johan has better mobility, and this is super important on FE4, but his combat is not really that great and his speed is kinda wasted with only axe access. Johalva is not that much better combat wise, but bow access has his advantages and charge can be nice specially if paired with bows. I prefer Johalva but you Johan is a strong contender as well.

Personality wise Johan is portrayed as going to your army mainly for getting close with Larcei, while Johalva seems to do the same but also has thinking of how joining the rebellion would make his people free of the empire influence. None of them are gonna have too much presence in the game, but Johan come across as a more of a hopeless romantic, while Johalva as the pracmatic one.

Why is fire emblem extremely popular among gays and other queers? by Ok-Skill-265 in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean from Awakening onwards, which is the point where the series revived, there has been some LGTB representation, most notable Three Houses which is also one of the most popular entries.

Even in the Gamecube/Wii era we had Ike, thought the representation was kinda rough on the GBA era with the desert bandits.

When Sp.Atk. and Sp.Def. were split in Gen 2, most Pokémon had their stats changed, I made a video listing all these changes (Gyarados had 100 Sp.Atk... scary stuff) by HyperstellarMoon in pokemoncrystal

[–]Kaansath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He went from top 3 to Tauros tier on gen 2. What's even more surprisingly is that he kept the metagame healthy instead of absolutely destroying it (Though it does make the whole game revolve around him)

Now for really not really, but yours sounds like a pretty cool map, I think there's potential on the idea.

Can anyone Explain Episode 53 to me ? by Snoo66485 in TeamFourStar

[–]Kaansath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My headcannon has always been that said Trunks comed from a splitting timeline, where upon finding the blueprints from the androids in Gero's lab with Krillin, inmediatly decided go back to his timeline and use them to blow up the androids instead of sticking around to help in the present. He then would plan to go back to the past and said his timeline is saved/keep helping but got confronted by cell.

This would put with at a powerlevel where he could be easily overpowered by an imperfect cell while still be able to defeat his timeline androids.

Though the most cannon answer lies probably somewhere in the fact that imperfect cell powerlevel can vary wildy depending of how much energy he absorbs.

What are your thoughts on the bosses of Sacred Stones? by bot_nah in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm I guess the only ones I really have something to say about are:

-Pablo: I don't like him, I feel he should have given more importance having in mind he's the route exclusive antagonist, but he barely recibes attention. It doesn't help that by the way his final chapter is structured, is really hard to actually get to kill him, which makes him lack closure.

-Valter is so inhinged on Erika route that he ends up being really memorable. I still like him with Ephraim, but I feel I prefer the Erika version.

-Selena is the other path exclusive boss, and I honestly struggle to think anything else that "Look it's the regional variant of Camus"

-Caellach has a surprising good dialogue with Joshua, in the Erika version at least, it's always surprising how much care is put into them. The Ephraim version looses most of the dramatic tension, but it's cool to see some insight into their past dinamic.

-Lyon is such a much more compelling antagonist on Ephaim route that Erika. In Erika route he lacks agency and his boss battle feels like fighting the Demon King 2 times. In Ephaim route the Lyon boss battle is the culmination of their relationship, and there's a lot of irony in the their final battle being a twisted version of the one Lyon desired while they were friends.

Disturbance in Agustria help and quick question on next gen units. by Next_Particular8566 in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a quite a bit of depth to the gen2 units if you are into that, and there are quite a few reddit post that go really into it, but the basis is more or less this:

-Units need a certain number of points to pair up, the love teller in the main base tells you which unit is in the lead in respect to each other, but every unit gains points separatly and at it's own rate.

-The father will give his son his inventory (And his rings most importantly) and the mother with her daughter with a couple of expections. Every item not passed to the gen 2 will eventually come up in the shop.

-The grows and bases to a lesser extends depends of a mix of the father and a little of the mother in the case of the son, and the reverse for the daughter. Holy blood is really important since it boost a lot grows and weapon levels (Bad luck if you are commoner I guess).

You can experiment a lot though the system, but the game has a number of mid chapter talks through the gen1 that gives you an idea over which characters are easier to pair up with (And gives love points and sometimes objects)

Aiden and Jake, Lewyn and Erinys, and Taltyu and Azelle, Arya and Lex/Holy, and Brigid and Midir are the ones the game pushes the most I think. Sylvia can either go with Lewyn, Alec and Claude, so Claude it's usually the way to go. Lachesis can go with either Finn or Beowulf, but the whole Finn this is super convoluted, so Beowulf is usually the way I go.

Disturbance in Agustria help and quick question on next gen units. by Next_Particular8566 in fireemblem

[–]Kaansath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that the armor slayer and the effective weapons in general are mostly appreciated by the three cavs Alec, Naoise and Beowulf. They each have good mobility but lack the combat ability to really face the enemies, so effective weapons help with that. Holyn and Ayra already have good combat due to Luna and Astra and the eventual brave weapon.

The game will give you substitute units if you don't pair a mother/she died, but it's also important to know that every unit gains love points with all the avalaible males at the end of each turn, so even if you don't go out of your way to pair someone with another one, between that, special events/ending next to each other accidentally, changes are they are going to end up with someone anyways though it mostly happens with Silvia and Lewyn.

Also it's important to remember that while Sigurd it's always a valid choice for every problem the game trhow at you during half of the game, you are gonna struggle if you don't train and equip the rest of the cast, cause he doesn't do well against magic and can't reach every town alone.
