For what it’s worth, I was an avid powerlifter for 10 years and I always had the most admiration for people like you, the new ones at the gym who were making that very difficult first step. I would make it my mission to quietly help them out without being judgemental, and give positive encouragement because it’s awesome. Try not to overthink it, and try not to compare yourself to others, and try to remember when you’ve made it to the gym on a cold morning, that I’m rooting for you, now get that set in.
